Letter from Army Major who received his “pink slip”
Yes, a separation board went into his restricted file and chose this officer for termination — not just him, but also his family. And remember, we can’t fire a damn soul at the IRS or the Veterans Administration!

This isn't new though. People were getting fried under this sort of "zero defects" mentality when I was in during the Clinton years.

The way they constantly build paperwork on soldiers to ruin them for every real or imagined infraction is one of the worst aspects of choosing the military as a career.

It is unfair for him to be canned.

That said, I think his 20+ years entitles him to a pension.

I agree with what you say there.

I also believe that there is much more to this story. Like, maybe he refuses to fire on his own people...

you know you think the criminals in d.c....i.e. obama, are getting ahead; when in fact, doing these things like firing our military majors is done in DESPERATION...obama is going down, he is like a spoiled child who doesn't get their way, destroys everything it can on the way out .....obama is finished, his administration is flat broke, and their is no more money, we are at the deficit ceiling...i don't know where obozo is getting money to pay for the iraq bombing, if it's being taken from the military coffers, it won't be replaced...you can count on that...the end of using money to kill people...that's NOT the american way....we don't need to get involved in 3rd world nation's problems.

He's right. One lapse in judgement is cause for administrative punishment. And if the behavior is not repeated it shouldn't reflect negatively upon him.

Certainly not grounds for separation.

Even the Coast Guard allows for one alcohol related incident.

Two alcohol related incidents and you are out the door.

Meh.. He got a DUI which is a big no/no in military circles...

he can't be trusted to operate a car, why should he be trusted with a platoon?

He should have been booted out in 2009
 Quoting: CaptRandom

agreed, obama should have been arrested my military provost marshalls in 2009 for treason.....why didn't they have the "right stuff" to hold the line and arrest the criminal, that's the question i have about our military....why is the military putting up with the fraud in the white house??????

arrest the treasonous bastard for killing 6 seals, and an ambassador in Libya...Benghazi....only the POTUS can give a stand down order......even if POTUS is silent...it's still a standdown order.....the commander-in-chief is responsible for those deaths, so why hasn't the military done their job and arrest the criminal in the white house for premeditated, first degree murder?????????????????????????//

it's time our military found some strength to do their job!

This isn't the fucking boy scouts, douchebag. We're talking about the United States Army. The man is supposed to be responsible for soldier's lives. He is tasked with making the hardest choices.

How in the fuck can you trust a man to make life or death choices, when he can't even make the proper choice regarding drinking and driving.

Work hard, Play Hard? You have to understand that there is a force multiplier when your work influences the lives of many others. This in turn causes more stress on those initially doing the work which cause them to seek a relief from that stress.

If someone goes to a doctor for "stress relief medicine" the people who go will later be called "crazy" because they needed medication to relieve stress.

" This is exactly what President Bill Clinton did over seven years ago when his administration illegitimately added some 83,000 veterans into the National Criminal Information System (NICS system) -- prohibiting them from purchasing firearms, simply because of afflictions like PTSD".

Adapt and Improvise, It is a military term that does wonders on the front lines. Doesn't help when a unit gets caught in the cross fire between National Security and Political expediency though.

Lead by example indeed, learn to read between the lines before you judge someone lest you be judged yourself.
