Every app you use authorizes the same permissions. You are consenting to the exact same thing, just more transparent now. You are authorizing the camera use to take & send pics in messenger. You are authorizing the microphone for calls/voice to text messages in messenger. It's not the apocalypse.

That being said, Facebook is shit and should be dropped for other reasons. EVERYTHING you are panicking about you already authorized if you use Skype, Kik, whatsapp, oovoo, etc....

Or you can continue to access it from the PC. You aren't giving up any rights...and you only have to download the app if you use messenger on your phone. You could always browse the sheeple feed on your phone and send messages at the pc if you dont want to consent.
