Hamburger Joints Too Damn Expensive
I like Whoppers, but geez, $7.00 for a freakin low grade beef burger, a GMO drink and some lowly fries? The dollar menus are about gone, so I guess I wont be dining out any more, even at the fast junk food places.

Sometimes I think I could start a restaurant selling loaded burgers, a plate load of fries and fountain sodas for 4-5 dollars and pack the place daily. I wonder what the profit margin would be?

$13 for a cheese burger and fries at the restaraunt I work for. Not fast food and you get an ocean view. :)

Re: Hamburger Joints Too Damn Expensive
I'm on the east coast of Canada and last month we decided to grab a bite at the mall. I'm standing in line at A& W and I'm confused because the burgers and the sides are separate. The teen burger was $5.00...the onion rings an pop were 5.70.....so I wait until its my turn an ask: is it really $10.70 for a combo and the girl says yes.....now, I consider myself a nice lady and all but I was like "fuck that, I'm going to Mc Donald's". No way I'm spending $50 for my family of four for fast food. In my opinion, we are all doomed......

Re: Hamburger Joints Too Damn Expensive
I told myself a few years ago I would stop eating fast food when the average meal cost over $10.

I've pretty much stopped... not because of the price, BUT BECAUSE THE BEEF TASTES LIKE THAT NASTY CRUD ON THEIR KITCHEN FLOOR THAT NEVER GETS SCRAPED UP!

I'm serious. The beef tastes horrible now-a-days.

The reason: $$$. Costs for everything, including labor, are skyrocketing. Competition pressures them to keep the price down. So what do they do? PINK SLIME, baby! THAT'S THE NASTY TASTE.

Do a Google search. There's a few people that have posted up recipes for Mickey Ds food and Gag (jack) in the boxe's secret sauce over the years. Tried a couple and believe it or not they were spot on except you could tell it was real meat.

Make a filet of fish at home and you'll probably have enough left to upgrade to a LARGE soda at the movie.

Re: Hamburger Joints Too Damn Expensive
For that kind of money, you could be eating a gourmet salad, homemade bread, fresh nuts and fruits, maybe a fish filet, whatever is in season.

If you've ever seen how cattle are held on their way to the slaughterhouse (or a slaughterhouse, for that matter) you'd never eat that poison again.

Learn to cook and learn what aisles of the supermarket to avoid.

And stop feeding your kids pig anuses (AKA hot dogs).

BTW, McDonald hamburgers were a nickel when they first started out... and they actually tasted like real beef.

Most of the profit comes from selling sodas. That $1.99 soda only costs 2 cents in reality.
