The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is so out of control that governments there have revived a disease-fighting tactic not used in nearly a century
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is so out of control that governments there have revived a disease-fighting tactic not used in nearly a century: the “cordon sanitaire,” in which a line is drawn around the infected area and no one is allowed out.

Cordons, common in the medieval era of the Black Death, have not been seen since the border between Poland and Russia was closed in 1918 to stop typhus from spreading west. They have the potential to become brutal and inhumane. Centuries ago, in their most extreme form, everyone within the boundaries was left to die or survive, until the outbreak ended.

makes good sense.

it is really what needs to be done.

another older way to prevent contagion (NOT that it would help in Africa, it has not helped there)

is to have sick people stay outdoors.

In America, tuberculosis, the white plague, killed so many thousands and is transmitted through the air.

in the days before laminar flow hoods, and all kinds of fancy ways to help move air out of hospital rooms,

patients slept outdoors on so-called "sleeping porches".

the people attending them always had fresh outdoor air, and hopefully breezes would help remove contagion.

older houses in our area still have "sleeping porches" near a former sanatarium.

I agree that people should not be free to travel in and out of West Africa until this all settles down, but I cold see this becoming a whole new problem. I don't think this will work.

History

Born out of the sanitary revolution which instilled an almost frenzied fear of germs (a recent discovery by science at the time), the sleeping porch offered a healthy and comfortable escape from the “vitiated” indoor air. In the early 1900s tuberculosis was the number one cause of death and fresh air was considered some of the best treatment for people suffering from this lung ailment. The population in the southern states discovered that by building a screened, private porch they could enjoy the cooler summer nights

oh, this ISN'T going to work in Africa - they probably sleep outdoors in many cases already, and it has not stopped anything.

It WOULD be good to know for here - if I am going to shelter in place with my family, we are going to put as much fresh air between ourselves as we can.

Ebola is pure government psy-op. Don't believe the hype and the hysteria that is being created by the media propaganda machine or the paid shills on GLP. Don't believe a word that comes from their "scientific" establishment. Do your own research and find out for yourself. You are being distracted from the real "Event" that your own government doesn't want you to know about. You have less than 12 months to be prepared.

This is a publicity stunt. Ebola is loose in Lagos and flights are coming out of Lagos all the time.

Thread: 35 countries one flight away from Ebola-affected countries

So, the governments aren't following that when they're allowing flights out of these cities, it's nonsense.

Plans for the new cordon were announced on Aug. 1 at an emergency meeting in Conakry, Guinea, of the Mano River Union, a regional association of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, the three countries hardest hit by Ebola, according to Agence France-Presse. The plan was to isolate a triangular area where the three countries meet, separated only by porous borders, and where 70 percent of the cases known at that time had been found.

It wasnt the fresh air, it was the health promoting sun rays activating vitamin d, tuberculosis worst enemy.

Tuberculosis is part of the natural flora of human beings, for example it maintains in check certain types of cancer which, o coincidence, are more common in people that via antibiotics totally kill tuberculosis. Problem isnt tuberculosis but a sick terrain, read about Bechamp.

research vitamin C... its said that the bleeding is because ebola strips the body of vitamin C, so that the blood vessals become porus and coagulation does not work.

so, the solution is said to be to consume large amounts of vit C until bodies' natural defences can kill the virus. Its not known either how much vit c is needed or how long this will take - probably a few days - it needs people to be using this method to find out exact details.

colliodal silver wont help as it only stops bacterium... not viruses

Not to sound harsh, but it one million people that much out of over 6 billion people? And I know any of us could catch it but it still doesn't sound like much compared to how many die from other sicknesses each year.
