Just put my tomato plants on the porch....that way I can hurry up and open the front door and bring them in before any gas or pyroclastic flows reaches them

No lava erupting yet. Just melting ice so far.

Hold tight. We'll see more earthquakes when it hits.

Ok, I just confirmed my flight to Hamburg for November.
I am taking Icelandic Airlines just because I figured it would give me the best view of the doom in case it happens.

I fly into Reykjavik and on to Copenhagen before I get to Hamburg, so if there is doom to be had I will have a front row seat...literally.

I will post my position while in the air if they have any internet on the plane, it's a 757 so the chances are low, but we will see.

I hope this thread stays alive until then.

According to @almannavarnir there are no signs of harmonic tremors which would indicate magma and ice mixing. #Bardarbunga

Scientists from IES and IMO on a flight to Vatnajökull tonigth discovered a row of 10-15 m deep cauldrons south of the Bárðarbunga caldera. They form a 6-4 km long line. The cauldrons have been formed as a result of melting, possibly an eruption, uncertain when. Heightened tremor level/volcanic tremor has not been observed on IMO's seismometers at the moment. The new data are being examined.

To me it would imply push-up or expansion due to convection or pressurization of magma underneath. Possibly because the magma reached as far to the northeast towards Askja as it could go before before blockage and is now backbuilding pressure into Bardabunga chamber.

Graben/depression (fractures and sinkholes) have been confirmed in NV Vatnajökull between Bárðarbunga and Grímsvötn. The depression is estimated to be 4-6 km long. The water is on the watershed of Grímsvötn and Jökulsá á Fjöllum.
