EMSC's magnitudes and localizations aren't good , IMO have better stations, need more time but the parameters are correct. Last Edited by EmaMai on 08/29/2014 08:01 AM |

That was an exciting night! And with a 4.8 quake at Bardarbunga less than an hour ago, today might be exciting too. The Internet is a confusing place, where nothing is as it seems - Joshuah Bearman |

The entire event will not play out in prime time as most of us wish. The worst will happen at the most inopportune moment...that's a given! Things will readjust to the new change and the repressurization will continue. I don't see any change in tremors and general widespread unrest. The statement that I found about this event being "off the charts" in historical measurement, tips me off bad! The volume has to be massive...fed from the mantle endlessly, so to speak. Both Barda and Askja act very unstable...especially Barda...I'm not too keen on the "ring effect" of all the quakes...that's looking ominous. Askja is a wild-card and looks to be waiting for the right moment and that particular agitation. And back quickly to the point of mantle fed volume...for me that's the eye-catcher of the whole mess. I reflect on my college coursework and global geological history...I find that the planet (and us) have been spoiled by relative calm...so, maybe in the end, this Iceland incident won't be the "one", it oh so easily can be somewhere else...BUT, this particular "set-up" is just screaming trouble. I'm not sure I've felt a more disturbing prospect cross my path ever. Something is telling me to watch this so carefully. For the first time that I can recognize...my attitude about this has been split 50/50...both excitement and anticipation and then, lurking in the background...dread, unrest, insecurity, and extremely raceing thoughts. I say, we all hang on tight, it's going to be a wild ride. Thanks for letting me share...best to all!!!!! |

I get 'server not responding' on both Mila cams. And it doesn't seem to load on the Malin Pebble website either. Guess the whole world is watching now?
