Icelanders are notoriously arrogant and pompous, they think they are all Odin or something living in Valhalla- so no surprise the VC'rs are abrasive and not very welcoming to outsiders although they claim they are.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61920898

Carl is a complete arsehole. the way he 'vehemently' disagreed that vei6+s are even remotely possible in Iceland.

yes, if I remember correctly he USED the word VEHEMENTLY to vehemently disagree with the person who said that. rofl

he was SO vehement he managed to spell vehement right.

Iceland: Experts still braced for major eruption

A small volcanic eruption in Iceland's Bardarbunga system has now stopped, and all airspace restrictions have been lifted.

But experts have warned the worst may not be over, with a major eruption causing an ash cloud similar to the 2010 eruption at the Eyjafjallajokull volcano still a possibility.

We had this discussion on and off about what might be if not causing but adding to the tension, sun flares, spots, moon, magnetic fields. Only the last is really measurable by us with our technical means imho. Does Iceland do that too ?

#Bárðarbunga. As dykes move in 3D space with offshoots etc, it's possible that this small eruption came from a small and higher offshoot.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world,(Papua New Guinea) the large Rabaul volcano began erupting earlier today and it has spewed out plenty of ash into the atmosphere. The ash plume has apparently reached about 11 miles into the air and has indeed disrupted air travel in that part of the world. This was the first major eruption of this volcano – one of the most active in Papua New Guinea - in about twenty years. In 1994, an eruption there nearly destroyed Rabaul altogether, forcing residents to flee.

Could be wrong, but with all the off-shoots of this caldera; a major eruption is some what unlikely.

It seems to build up steam and slowly release.

Maybe in the near future a huge blowout, but I have reservations for now.

No doom for me right now. Maybe tomorrow or Sunday.

The quake in Canada and the quake in Iceland are only separated by a little over one degree longitudinally - according to USGS.

No need to apologise Lois - we all like to communicate in our own langauges - please do go ahead. I only know a few words in Potugese - "obrigado" being the first I learned! I think it was a good one! The only other I know is "vampsh gamera" - if I am right it means "come to eat", or "food is ready"? heheheh, now you see where my priorities lie!!
