Can tree hugging boost your health? | |

If it is not well grounded a strong wind can topple it or even blow it away but if well grounded a tree can and must withstand storms and the tumult of the outside world. It must also be flexible so as not to break in the wind, a balance of strong grounding and flexibility. Humans too must be well grounded in themselves, the Earth and in Spirit if they are to withstand the trials of life. If we are not well grounded we tend to be swept up in the circumstances and emotional drama of our lives and this is particularly true in these intense times. However if we are well grounded, we find our stability within and we are not swept away even in the most difficult of times. [link to www.keen.com] |

Every time I got in trouble while camping as a kid (8-12 yrs old), my parents (my dad) would tell me to go hug a tree. I thought it was embarrassing! I'm 26 now (male) and can feel the beauty in this! It's powerful! Just try it! I really do dare ALL of you reading this to go outside and hug a tree for at least 2 minutes. Thread: Hey you, go and hug a tree... I dare you! |

I remember as a kid skateboarding down our street I started to go too fast and couldn't stop or jump off. I fell backwards and my head made first contact with the kerb. Seriously my head felt like it was swaying in and out of itself. I tried to run out of sheer panic but because of the swaying I kept falling over. Then I had a thought that I had to make it over to a tree, which I did, I hugged it and put my head against it and the swaying quickly stopped and my 'head' centered again. Weird but that's my tree hugging story :) |
