Everyone is awfully cheeky, is anyone prepared to take this news seriously?

I mean this radically calls into question everything we've ever been told about the nature of space and life in it.

I always thought that the stuff "swimming" around the space station was very plankton like, space being the ocean. Some of it very amoeba-like in movement, and swimming as if space was liquid...not surprised at all.

As above, so below?

The implications are MUCH greater than that.

Everyone is awfully cheeky, is anyone prepared to take this news seriously?

 Quoting: Neon_Knight

Yes, but many here do not seem to have the aptitude to process this level of information.

If true, the significance of this could be astounding and answer many questions as to types of creation as well as bio-diversity in what would normally be un-diverse environments.

How else to explain how numerous life species could form on a previously molten (and sterile) planet such as ours was in the beginning.

Combination of natural processes enhanced with "star-seeds" could rewrite the biology (and religious) books with an entirely new sequence.

Re: Plankton found thriving in space
that means thet somewhere in the universe there's an ecosystem of ingravid lifeforms, from space plankton to space wales
 Quoting: viejasombra

That somewhere could be here. UFOs could be organisms that live in the vacuum of space. The asteroids in the asteroid belt are probably covered with living organisms. Life is a natural part of the universe. It would be unusual not to find it.

Yes, and I doubt that it was "Thriving in space" more like dormant. It would be very interesting if like the tardigrade(water bear), the plankton could come back out of that dormant state.

Re: Plankton found thriving in space
[link to www.dailymail.co.uk]

Traces of plankton and other microorganisms have been found living on the exterior of the International Space Station (ISS), according to Russian space officials.

They claim the plankton were not carried there at launch – but are thought to have been blown there by air currents on Earth.

Incredibly, the tiny organisms were found to be able to survive in the vacuum of space despite the freezing temperatures, lack of oxygen and cosmic radiation.

The discovery was made during a routine spacewalk by Russian cosmonauts Olek Artemyev and Alexander Skvortsov, who were launching nanosatellites into space.

They used wipes to polish the surface of windows - also known as illuminators - on the Russian segment of the ISS and later found the presence of plankton and other microorganisms using ‘high-precision equipment’.

‘The results of the experiment are absolutely unique,’ said the head of the Russian ISS orbital mission Vladimir Solovyev.

So air currents leave Earth and go through the atmosphere and into space? How do they survive the heat of atmospheric entry, or you know that hot layer that burns shit up...
