They Are Using WHO Visual/Verbal Diagnosis... This is hilarious! Extremely concerning, but hilarious! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29738085 So, did anyone at any time not think that as Ebola becomes more main stream, people wouldnt know of the symptoms? Thus, only being the next logical step, people being aware of the symptoms of a horrifying virus would express concern over said symptoms. Which are close to damn near everything that wont necessarily kill you. BUT, the point im trying to make is the fact that this only makes this outbreak more serious. Because it shows up like everything else, its like a vapor. And of course it shouldn't be a frigging 'round a-bout' test. But in the end how do you really, as a doctor or whomever, discern between the 1000 that show up each day with flu-like symptoms per day and expect that they can run lab tests on each individual. While quarantined I might add. Its impossible. This was either by man or nature the perfect design to do their dirty work, because it looks like everything else and transmits just as well. How do you chase a mirage? You can't. And I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts, it this is actually correct, they are publicising that they are testing because they have to show that they are actually doing something. Bet you they are pulling their hair out also, because their isnt a darn thing they can do at the moment. Either way it would turn into a catastrophe. Shut down all travel? Economic ripples, riots and death, looting and death. Or the other way and the virus still jumps, now you have a catastrophe occurring while people are extremely fragile and going into zombie mode. Its a crap situation... I just chuckied a bit reading that sobering perspective ( chuckled & cried at the same time ). |

The point is that only a small fraction of the 'negative' 'Ebola test' 'results' are actually what they're claimed to be (if any of them are). People are relying on these fraudulent reports and staking their lives on the contents of the reports when they have ZERO credibility. |

They Are Using WHO Visual/Verbal Diagnosis... They're not performing the blood tests because they're overwhelmed. The CDC not performing the blood tests (under any pretense) gives them several advantages including: 1. They can label all the 'Ebola tests' 'negative' while maintaining plausible deniability 2. They can avoid any financial liability because their cover story will be that they were too overwhelmed to perform the blood tests and that can never be disproven So, they get the 'results' they want and they avoid financial liability while maintaining their 'ethical integrity.' |

As time goes by, we sit and wait for more cases to arise of be reported. If, and or when, it reaches a point where its a daily occurance where you see or hear of new cases, well, it will simply be easier to confirm the direction its headed. No fraud.. Simply.. And I dont care either way because you wont need tests! People will be dieing a horrifying death and it will be quite confirmed with mass media. Twitter, or whatever for example. You'll just have to take the occurrences and figure out for yourself where the tide is going, and who its going to drag out to sea next. Wont really matter, because all hell will be breaking lose because too many people have watched the end of the world scenarios so much that they will snap, hoard, kill, burn, bla bla bla. Im more concerned about that crap than I am about the virus. |

So your points are all moot...learn to read people. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58630118 I know... half of the people that read this thread totally missed the point I was trying to make. These 68 cases in question are all based on the fact that the person was directly in one of the 4 infected locations in West Africa, and then went to a US hospital showing possible signs of Ebola. The fact that only 10 (15%) were blood tested is ridiculous, especially since this virus has a 3 week incubation period. Verbal diagnosis... are you fucking kidding me, not to mention the protocol isn't even to talk to the infected person, it is to talk to the persons relatives to deem whether or not the case is valid or not... They are acting like they are doing everything possible to stop this from spreading, when in reality they are doing fuck all. I mean hell, a couple of years back my throat got all swollen up for about a week and when I went to the doctor they said it was possibly Mumps, and they HAD to do blood tests by law to find out if it was due to public safety risks. My employer was contacted and they had to get the names of anyone that might of had contact with me in the days prior. In the end it wasn't Mumps but they did a blood test to make sure, and were even following up with anyone that might of had contact with me just in case it did come back positive. The fact that they wouldn't even blood test a possible Ebola suspect is just a fucking joke! "Fuck the American regime change policy... Pardon me... I mean fuck our gift of democracy!" Wow, that is really scary....and weird.... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58630118 I can just picture it now... Doctor: Hey you got Ebola? Patient: I am not sure, do I? Doctor: Have you been to an Ebola infected area? Patient: Ya I just got back from Sierra Leone. Doctor: Interesting, did you touch anyone with Ebola while there? Patient: Not that I know of.. Doctor: Well are you bleeding internally? Patient: I don't think so... Doctor: OK then, the test results are "negative", your good to go! Patient: Thanks CDC & WHO, I feel so much better now! Patient: touch touch touch touch touch didn't they find the Ebola TEST is false POSITIVE most of the time? That would mean they dont want to use it and raise the numbers even a little and create panic. Erring on the side of caution would be my recommendation - but these tests almost always come out positive - so - maybe they just aren't telling if they give it.... This info right here should honestly make everyone question every single "negative" test result we have gotten back. I think everyone assumes by "waiting for test results" they mean blood tests, but from the look of it 90% of the cases the results they are waiting for are the WHO/CDC Verbal diagnosis questionnaire results being sent to the CDC to decide whether or not the case is positive or negative based on the information given. Listen I FULLY get if there were 1,000,000 cases that they might have to resort to visual/verbal diagnosis simply due to labs being overrun and so on... but to have 68 cases across the nation, and to only blood test 10 of them... this is total bullshit. 5* and a pine. |
