Instance of people leaving Ebola treatment centres due to lack of food.

Personally - I think they should be sent fucktons of food... if not for them, to stop them increasing the seed numbers of infected!

"Amidst positive news of the survival of persons affected by the Ebola virus, latest report says victims at the ELWA Ebola Isolation Center are leaving the camp due to lack of food.

Disclosing this at the National Ebola Task Force Meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia yesterday, Health Minister, Walter Gwenigale, said he had received several calls from the center that the people are hungry and need food."

The rest of the next pargraph sounds face-saving bullshit:

"In quick clarification, Assistant Health Minister for Preventive Services, Tolbert Nyenswah, said food is available at the various Isolation Camps but those who are making the calls may need special diet. Nyenswah said the victims are being provided meal three times daily adding that the callers are the higher-ups who may need special kind of diet."

"Higher ups" requesting more food, because THEY have diet issues? Is that right? Or are they phoning on behalf of the ill people with diet issues.

In fact - people from slums I imagine would die very young if they had peanut allergies, or suchlike - especially when they believe in Jui Jui doctors, witchcraft and don't understand bacteria, viruses, or the immune system!
Food isn't massively abundant, and they'd eat what they could get. Bushmeat, and market produce like vegetables.


So - if these special diets are bullshit (I think so) - and the food is scarce... hands up who thinks the "higher-ups" are nicking it all?

~sigh~ Another instance of insane stupidity and selfishness?

I wouldn't have believed it's possible... except for reading about the last few days events.
