Ebola is IN MONROVIA - not just the West-Point slum....
The news as far as I can tell is staying quiet about the Monrovian cities situation with Ebola.

We hear lots about little satellite towns, and West-Point, but not the city itself.

Being a "proper urban area", with public transport, toilets, hospitals, doctors, and the other features of an urban area, we can use Monrovia city as a model of what to expect in other cities around the world.

It took a good 15 minutes digging, but I got lucky and found the following, which suggests that Ebola IS in Monrovia's main city.

"A man in a truck looks down on a man suspected of dying from the Ebola virus, in one of the main streets on the outskirts of the city center of Monrovia, Liberia, Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014. The Ebola virus has the “upper hand” in an outbreak that has killed more than 1,400 people in West Africa, a top American health official has said, but experts have the tools to stop it. It's from the second picture in, on this site:

So over this month, we should look carefully at Monrovia city centre, to see how Ebola behaves...

Here's another telling story:
".....workers have to return corpses to a hospital in the city after being told they lack the capacity to cremate all the victims."

Honestly what would hold them back from escaping the quarantine?

Look at a map. The mesurado river is about 150m wide. A kid could do it.

I know it's not fun but one can wonder...

What about crows or any bird eating infected corpses/food or displacing belongings?
Or even the waves taking away contaminated trashes or vomit?

I'm not even talking about insects

There's no way IMHO they can quarantine the whole area.

~With forethought and malice Whitless enacted an EO giving nursing homes immunity from wrongful death prosecutions, forced them to take in infected patients and is responsible for over 6500+ nursing home deaths~

Isolating communities has succeeded in some rural areas in past outbreaks in Central Africa. But the quarantine of an entire urban neighborhood, where an estimated 60,000 to 120,000 people are crammed into crumbling shacks, has proved to be more than just porous. It has also led to deadly clashes with soldiers and may even be helping spread the disease, experts say, forcing people to crowd together for basic humanitarian aid, like food relief.

Sounds like the movie "Empire of the Sun", that's terrible no matter what. But, you throw in Ebola, it's hell on earth.
