Its a mental illness. I knew someone who had a car accident, suffered severe head trauma, was in a coma for three months, then when he woke up he acted totally different (all flamboyant and ultra-queer) and he said he was gay. He divorced his wife and left his kids.

I do not care for homosexuals. I dont hate them but i dont want them to touch me or force their agenda on me or my family. But i do understand. I come from a time where polite people didn't talk about that so much. And the way that most people "came out" to their parents (if they did - - there was always the "I just haven't found the right girl" excuse) was AFTER they'd moved out to their own place, got a job, were paying their own bills, etc. In other words, they had grown up and part of being grown up for them was being gay.

But nowadays it seems like being blatantly public about the situation seems like the really cool thing to do, to disrupt everything at home, and to somehow try to make the parents feel like it was some deficit on THEIR part which caused little Johnny or Marsha to be attracted to same-sex relationships.

It's a very irresponsible way to do it, if you ask me.

Atheism is just the first step toward a free mind that we have yet to achieve unanimously as a species. Atheism not a place to linger, that's just the correct reaction to the idea of deities or theism. I believe there is a vast expansion within our capacity as humans, living free of ancient ritual that keeps us bound and embracing the greater universe. I don't know when or how it's going to happen, but it's the next stage of our evolution. Clearly, we are not there yet, and we have a ton of work to do before we can join the greater cosmic community.

You also need to travel a bit to realize gays are just another minority group. Live in a major city. If you stay in the same small town all your life, you'll never understand the reality of it.

I think everyone in that video balanced themselves out nicely. They were equal in their ignorance and unrealistic expectations. Just from different extremes of the gay/ straight spectrum. In other words, gay or not, he is just like his family.

If my child comes to me and says they are gay, I will not turn them away. I will not turn my back on them. I will not ask them to leave the shelter of their home. I will not punish them or berate them. I will give them over to God and let God be their judge, but as their mother, my duties, my love and anything else that goes with that does not end, ever.

I really cant see how homos are dangerous. They are a minority. They are a very small percent. They are no threat to the normal folks. They are born with a defect and they can never be forced to like the opposite sex. They are only a threat to themselves with certain diseases. Just like all the other defects that a kid could be born with. Do i hate them? No. Do i hate people with down syndrome? No. Do i want to hang out with a gay or mentally retarded person? Not really.
