Obama Going to Gay Chef's Wedding This Weekend

President Obama could be among the guests hearing the “I do’s” at the weekend wedding of one of his high-profile staffers.

ITK hears that Sam Kass, the president’s senior policy adviser for nutrition policy and the executive director of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign, is tying the knot over Labor Day weekend to MSNBC host Alex Wagner. The pair announced their engagement last summer and have been dubbed "politics' It-couple of the year" by Vogue magazine.

Word is the commander in chief is headed to the nuptials, and may have even changed his mid-August vacation plans to travel back to Washington for the White House chef’s pre-wedding festivities. Obama interrupted his annual summer getaway on Martha's Vineyard earlier this month to return to the nation's capital.
He spent nearly five hours at Kass's Logan Circle home during that trip, according to a White House press pool report. A spokesman said at the time that the president's D.C. excursion was for "a day or two of in-person meetings" at the White House, but the Washington press corps was left buzzing about possible reasons for the trek back to the West Wing."
