The funny thing is, you think what others might think of you, and mostly, those others are busy with themselves and dont give a fuck about you.

That's totally true.. But also, most of the time, "themselves" is just THEM being busy with what others think about them too..

I'm not saying one shouldn't give a shit about anything and just walk around town in sweatpant shorts with their sweaty nuts hanging out... But more in the idea of general decision making.

I got rid of any of the fucked up people who caused drama in my life, quit an excellent job for a lesser paying job with another firm that allows me to work from home, sold, stored or completely ditched most of the things I owned and came to Mexico.

I work from home, live very well here, travel into the states every 6 months or so, visit family, visit friends all over the US and am happier than I've been in a long time.

80% of people do not understand. But 90% of my friends understand and that's why they're my friends..

Seriously, the world is a fucked up place but can be very rewarding if you're doing whatever it is that you want. Travel. Sell your home and travel. Move to a foreign place. Build a cabin in the mountains if that's what you want. Buy a boat, move to the keys and live on it. Tell your boss to suck your dick and get fucked, then go make things happen. Life is too short to sweat the small shit. Stop worrying about the details, seriously. Utilize the skills you have, and find a way to make them work for you in a situation that makes you most happy.

No problem! We get tied up too often in other peoples bullshit, our own bullshit, and things that are sometimes out of our control. But most of the problems and issues in our lives our 100% of our own creation.

And if someone elses problems are the main problem in your life, well, then you're just a sucker. So instead of being a sucker, or instead of worrying about bullshit you shouldn't have to worry about, just be like "fuck this, I'm done". Some people perceive it as irresponsible, but that's only because they're jealous and afraid to actually liberate themselves.

I seriously, seriously encourage anyone who wants or needs a major change in their life to evaluate their situation, and act accordingly. Most of us are being severely held down by something or another but there's always a way around it if you use your head.

I couldn't agree more - attitude is key and it also goes much further than you'd think. Not just your attitude towards people, (i.e. good attitude or bad attitude as it's simplified) but your attitude towards yourself and your decisions. Your attitude about your attitude.

People spend a lot of their time trying to change other people. Yet the real and only power we have is the control over ourselves. We cannot control others and yet most give enormous amounts of energy to others actions and wallow in those actions.

It isn't about good or bad experiences, it's about the power you give those experiences that defines the life you have.

When you realise the power of the present, when you are no longer depressed about the past, or worry about the future, you see life as it really is, without the baggage most carry with them.

It isn't about losing the ego, it's simply realizing when it's the ego trying to steer your course. Once you are self aware of the ego life changes quickly.

The very last line of that video really hit home for me.....when he spoke about how a thought can start as one thing and lead to life having no value basically. Those swings can happen so easily for me, one moment I'm on top of the world, I'm fine. Next thing I know, I'm down in the dumps, sad, depressed, not wanting to exist and finding it hard as hell to come back up for air. Can happen THAT fast.

Yep. Thats why you need to practice to be aware of what is going on in your head. Just this morning I felt a bit depressed cause its all rainy and foggy and not sunny as in summer. Usually I would not have noted the connection, but this morning I realised I was letting the weather influence my mood, switched the thinking and now I don't feel depressed or anything. It works.

I know I've personally have spent WAY too much time on things I shouldn't have. Trying to change a lover, trying to change a friend who's a fucking junkie, or trying to change a family member's opinion on something I deem important. To all of those situations I've gave far too much energy. And I admit, I'm the type of person who completely doesn't give a fuck about most things but when I do care, I seem to care too much maybe. It's weird.

All I know is I've been able to ditch a lot of the baggage in my life - and use all that energy the extra baggage used to take up by applying it directly to myself.

You have amazing advise. That really hit home over here. Some people are born into a lottery were certain lifestyles afford them the chance to be themselves.

Other times, we were raised to start our own household, and once you leave the nest, you're on your own.
