This will bleed to death the people hurting the most. I also gave up on the idea that our two parties care about the US anymore and despise them equally the Democrats OWN this abomination and should be held accountable for it. Oh and Judge Roberts(oddly enough, or was it that odd?) America is be purposefully dismantled before our very eyes and the vast majority of Americans don't even see it. It will NOT be equal, the minorities and welfare queens who vote to keep these damn democraps in office will always get better care than the tax-payers who pay for it all. Universal care is bankrupting Europe what the hell do you think it will do here? They want you to want universal care and have control over that part of your life too. |

Not during the winter though so that's why I suggusted 5,000 IU a day for most adults during "school year". |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 44548263 United States 09/04/2014 08:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You will have to pay the tax on your 1040 which is 2% of your income I think. Still loads cheaper usually. But ONLY if you have a refund coming! for people who had insurance at some point during the year, If you do owe a penalty, it will be withheld from your 2014 tax refund. If the payment is not made, the IRS can withhold the amount from any future tax refunds, with an accrued interest of approximately 3 percent. However, the IRS cannot impose liens, levies or criminal penalties for failure to pay the penalty. [link to money.usnews.com] So, just adjust your withholding so as not to be getting a refund and your penalty amounts to absolutely NOTHING! |

I think both options are unsustainable but if I had to choose it would be single payer only because what we have now is going to destroy the middle class and small businesses. There will be nothing left and the incentive to work will be gone as medical insurance will be you entire paycheck, if you can even get a job. This system is tailor made to kill our economy. Honestly I think both parties tipped their hands when Judge Roberts bent over backwards to find a way to uphold the ACA. He actually found a way to keep it that Obama and the Dems could figure out. Who is going to save us? The republicans? They are fake opposition in my mind and any rational person should be able to see that now. True Tea Party candidates(Libertarians) but it would require a third party President. We are screwed. |

Same quote I got,$24,000+ a year counting deductible and no 100% coverage. Make sure you read the fine print close, lot of the plans don't cover prescriptions till the deductible is filled. Plus they only have to cover 1 drug in each category, so if you have a prescription already there is a very good chance it won't be covered. My accountant said we could divorce to save because of my glaucoma prescription, it will save us over $6000 a year. I'm not doing it, I'll bank the cash and take my chances. I increased my medical coverage on our auto insurance just incase of an accident. If you divorce to pay less in medical insurance, you may end up in a higher tax bracket. 25% is a lot higher taxes than 15%. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Who is John Galt? |
NervousAndJerky User ID: 60300858 United States 09/04/2014 09:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After ACA. $280.00 every 2 weeks. No more copay, A $6,000.00 dollar deductible, annually, per person. For ALL Dr.s visits, and medication. The wife and I have two children. I have already had to stop taking a medication that went from a $25.00 copay every month . To $238.00 a month. What the hell, it only relived pain. I now for the first time, have a tab with my Dr. I owe him $400.00 bucks. These are real numbers. When does the "affordable" part start? I used to consider me and mine middle class. Not any more. p.s. This thread will disappear. Last Edited by NervousAndJerky on 09/04/2014 09:23 PM |
The Right Policy User ID: 57209249 United States 09/04/2014 09:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Democrats did this to you, folks. Remember that in November, unless you're stupid. The Right Policy is Always Conservative "The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President." - Vaclav Klaus |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 62495591 New Zealand 09/04/2014 09:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I left the US and came to NZ with "universal healthcare" We now pay over 30% in taxes (it is a flat progressive tax that charges everyone the same but still...) (and if you earn even slightly above poverty, there are no deductions for children or anything else to offset the tax)(this includes over 1% of your annual salary as a levy for accidents=---anyone in NZ is covered for accidents) We also pay 15% goods and service tax (like a sales tax) on EVERYTHING!!! they even tax you on taxes! Gas is over $8/gallon b/c of taxes Healthcare is severely rationed here. Yes, I can get in to see my doctor the same day (for $25-50) and prescriptions are $5 BUT everything needs a referral to a specialist and that takes forever. I went to the emergency room 2 years ago with a suspected heart attack. I am STILL waiting to see the cardiologist. To be fair, I did get a heart monitor for 24 hours about 6 months after the ER visit. But no one has ever seen me to explain what is happening. I have been waiting several months for an endocrinologist. I can pay privately ($400 for first visit) but that will still take about 4 more months to see the doctor even on the private system. Break an arm and they are great. Anything else---they are useless. Just want to write you a prescription anyway. And only some of the prescriptions are covered by the govt. Doctors try to make sure that they write the prescription in a way to ensure it is NOT covered. They give you the pill instead of the liquid and only the liquid is covered, for example. End result is that we pay HEAPS for the national healthcare but we can't actually use any of it. We are thinking of trying a new country. |

The wife and I just spent a year in cancer treatment (for her). If we didn't have insurance, our bill would be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
