Quoting: A Friend BC is Before Christ. And AD stands for Anno Domini Which is Latin for "in the Year of our Lord." There is no one who has actually changed time here on earth other than you guessed it, Jesus. Horus never did anything like that, because... I know, I know... Because he is a MYTH. Today virtually the entire world uses the Gregorian calendar for commercial purposes. The Gregorian calendar gained popularity because it was accurate and convenient for international trade. In order to remove the Christian implications from the calendar, the designations C.E. ("of the common era") and B.C.E. ("before the common era") are sometimes used to replace A.D. and B.C. If you think the majority of the world's population who are non-christian accept this calendar because there is some historical event attached to it, you are unbelievably gullible. beebee |

The oral tradition of the bible began in 4000 b.c. Now you are quoting from something which is called Mythology. Do you know what myth means? It means, made up, story, fable etc... These all mean that part or all of it is a story for you. Quoting: A Friend How do you think the myth's came into being? I would say from the bible. Only the non-believers believe in myths more than God. How's that working for you? A myth does NOT mean a made up story. It means the truth is hidden within a story. There is no one who has actually changed time here on earth other than you guessed it, Jesus. Horus never did anything like that, because... I know, I know... Because he is a MYTH. This calendar era is based on the traditionally reckoned year of the conception or birth of Jesus of Nazareth, with AD counting years from the start of this epoch, and BC denoting years before the start of the era. There is no year zero in this scheme, so the year AD 1 immediately follows the year 1 BC. This dating system was devised in 525 by christian authorities, but was not widely used until after 800. The Anno Domini dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus to enumerate the years in his Easter table. His system was to replace the Diocletian era that had been used in an old Easter table because he did not wish to continue the memory of a tyrant who persecuted Christians. The last year of the old table, Diocletian 247, was immediately followed by the first year of his table, AD 532. When he devised his table, Julian calendar years were identified by naming the consuls who held office that year—he himself stated that the "present year" was "the consulship of Probus Junior", which was 525 years "since the incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ". Thus Dionysius implied that Jesus' Incarnation occurred 525 years earlier, without stating the specific year during which his birth or conception occurred. "However, nowhere in his exposition of his table does Dionysius relate his epoch to any other dating system, whether consulate, Olympiad, year of the world, or regnal year of Augustus; much less does he explain or justify the underlying date." But if Jesus never existed, What year is it really? Catholic was the rule and law for 1000 years. Quoting: Apollo Far-Darter What does a history and story of Israelites, of a Jew, with a group of Jewish disciples, speaking to Jews in Jerusalem and Israel have to do with Rome? It is quite the path to explain. All of western Europe and north Africa was part of the roman empire. Then we have the forced conversion of said empire, in 392 under the Imperial edict of Thessalonica, created by an emperor who got sick from lead poisoning and decided to convert to Christianity and wanted to force it upon everyone else. In the 4th century, Christianity as we know it, was created.
