As per the title.

The Scarlet Plague

Set in 2073, 60 years after the outbreak (2013)

Ebola anyone?

Extraordinary coincidence.

Its all in the numbers. An examination of the case count curve shows this epidemic is in a rapidly expanding phase. The WHO, CDC, MSF et al are in agreement that - at least in Liberia & Sierra Leone - they have lost control and the on the ground resources are totally overwhelmed. It does not really matter how many cases there are now they are increasing rapidly and spreading geographically without any method of check.
Given the above this epidemic will become a pandemic unless vastly increased resources are deployed, and there is nothing imminent. None of the currently effected countries has the ability to achieve this and nor do any of their geographical neighbors - do not kid yourselves that the national boarders in this region are any more than hypothetical.
Blocking air traffic from this region, already largely done, will not help as spread to more important hubs Lagos, Nairobi, Capetown first and then cities in China and India will lead to areas we can not block traffic to without causing economic disruption as damaging as the disease itself.

If you do not want cases regularly cropping up in a town near you then the fire at the center of this storm needs extinguishing or at least damping down to the point where it is not doubling every month, which it is at present.

If you think the US health care system can cope with multiple introductions check out the number of ICU beds that can be safely isolated and the numbers of ICU staff trained to use them. The 2 repatriated SIM staff went to one of the few hospitals well equipped to deal with them and required a team of 26 specialist HCWs.
