The Reason the NFL delayed action on Ray Rice | |
milehighmike User ID: 10079812 United States 09/11/2014 02:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This has been & will remain a PR nightmare for the league & Goodell might just lose his job if the allegations about them having the tape 5 months ago prove to be true. There's already the drum beats in the lame-stream media calling for his head: [link to www.latimes.com] Last Edited by milehighmike on 09/11/2014 02:02 PM "Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. NFL was ready to sweep this completely under the rug with the minimum 2 game suspension of Ray Rice. Then the video emerges. Ray's problem wasn't that he put his wife down with a sharp left hook but that the video of it came out and embarrassed the NFL. That is why he is suspended indefinitely. The video is why Goddell is in hot water and the NFL is receiving so much bad press. The NFL does not want to expose anything that would adversely affect it's image. |

The reason they acted is because the video got leaked...and they were forced to do something to save face. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60024431 I'm sure TMZ is partnered with a NFL biased news agency. There is no reporter who cant write anything about the NFL without the NFLs approval. Peter King is writing negative stuff about the commish because he was told to by the NFL. That means the entire thing is bogus to begin with. This story was created to influence the people who don't think the NFL manipulates its own games. they'll say that of course the NFL is legit because why would they try to investigate their own people for something ? now, there are people smart enough to know that nothing will happen because the NFL is investigating itself LOL. but they cant put that together with in season scripting. they think the commish makes his own decisions and tells the owners LOL. the Commish is middle management for the Owners and does what he is told |

Nothing was done til the start of the season so that it would be "BIG" news. Something happens in the off-season and it barely makes a ripple. NFL wasn't trying to cover it up but rather expose the issue on a grand stage. They waited til the start of the season for maximum effect. Unintelligent people are 180 degrees off on this. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58967202 The NFL didn't do that The Masons did that |

Supposedly came from law enforcement. They wanted someone else to leak it and were probably communicating as much to the source. Another angle was betting considerations. Baltimore with Ray Rice looks different in the betting pools than without. Also, millions to be made and lost on Fantasy Football rosters. Be sure mafia was also involved. As many people as possible used the info to line up as much profit as possible. When you get a leak of information, you must consider all angles. You might just be played. But, bottom line, Mrs. Rice is as guilty as him. I don't think the NFL is the fountainhead of righteousness in our Nation. The pulpits need to carry the water on this, hot and heavy, as well as on any other moral issues. For that matter, the pulpits should be carring the water on all worldwide current events, not giving us a weeks-long series of feel good pointers. Wake up Church and be relevant to everyday life and local, national, and world events. |
