Red UFO like object created Aurora Borealis type anomaly

My friend noted seeing something similar this morning around 6:00 am local time in the SW direction. He said it was a large triangular shaped cloud looking thing but was not a cloud. We're in Paso Robles, CA.

Early this morning on my way to work,
Around 6:00a. Near the Culver City Ca,
Los Angeles Ca, border, I saw a huge bright
white, light in the Northern sky. It was
not the moon, as the moon was to my
left in the Western sky. The light had
a triangle like beam shooting down,
but did not make contact with the ground, it
was mid sky. It was not a helicopter search light.
there were no blinking lights on this object
just a huge bright light. I was pretty much
thinking WTF ?? Then the beam of light
coming from the bright light slowly,
very, very slowly, started fading back into
the larger light. I scrambled to grab my
phone to take some quick pics, and the
main light faded away into the clouds, or
fog. I managed to get a pic just before
the light faded away. But can't post, cause
I'm not a member.

I also am certain it was NOT a helicopter
with a search light, because search lights
normally just go on and off , and are not
triangle beam shaped. They're more wide
spread, and mass-ish. If that makes sense.

I was so bummed. Actually lucky I
didn't get into an accident trying to take
a pic.

But this is not a joke. No idea what
I saw early this morning ????

Los Angeles / Culver City... Saw something
similar this morning as well around 6:00am
Except mine had no colors to it
