Saving money for when TSHTF?

Buy alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. Black market now will be invaluable when SHTF.

If the SHTF, you won't have time to try to leave the country. If the US goes down the whole world economy goes with it. So all banks or financial institutions will be closed. So there will be no other country to "run to".
(Most of the largest, most important companies that supply goods, services and technology to the world are based in the US)

Gold and silver might have value, right at the very beginning and at the very end of a SHTF situation (for those still left alive). Once food and normal items become scarce, it is doubtful that gold or silver will be tradable for much of anything.
If it really badly hits the fan, nothing will be of value, including your life.
However, food, food and medicinal plant seeds, medicine, ammo, tobacco, booze, and possibly sex will most likely be barter items throughout a SHTF situation.
since it is unlikely you can stock much of any of these thing and keep them from raiders. Kiss your wealth good bye!

I could add that anyone TRUTHFULLY asking about overseas bank accounts that they could access after they move out of the country when everything collapses is a moran!
