Anonymous Coward User ID: 62956760 United States 09/17/2014 04:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Does anyone know of many esoteric books? Not looking for anything to do with the new age movement, but more so the occult. Most of the older texts that I know are authentic are in latin and extremely expensive. I'm looking for books that aren't the go to's for most people, the ones that aren't your best-sellers, but kept by the people with the personal intentions of self-work, not gain. The Kyballion was my first start a while back, as well as "Three Books on Occult Philosophy," but I feel there's definitely more.
As with any books I know they all have some truth, surrounded by intentional corruptions. I'm just looking for any books that aren't going to cost an arm and a leg and not be some new age or ego booster material for self-gain, or just telling me what I want to hear.
Does anyone in the serious study of the occult know any books for beginners? |

I'd like to read about from the time period where he wasn't as involved with Christianity if you know the books that were written during then? I respect where his beliefs were held, but on my personal level I'm not interested in viewing things from that perspective as much as I am in a completely objective nature. |

The Kybalion may lead one towards the teachings of Paul Foster Case. I would say though, think about what you're getting yourself into, or perhaps, what you're opening yourself up to.
I think this song is about opening yourself up to the occult. Listen to the lyrics. Proceed at your own risk.

I found deep wisdom in the book "The Modern Alchemist" by Richard and Iona Miller. They take take "The Book Of Lambsprinck " a sixteenth century alchemical text written by a German alchemist, and explain and expand on the psychological method of creating the philosophers stone. A real gem of a book. |
