OP, generalizing is usually not good. You are telling us more about your view of life than about reality.

I think threatened is sometimes more accurate than hated. When I was married and my marriage was bad I was threatened by single women because I didn't have their independence AND because my husband liked to look and eventually touch.

Now that I am single, I find that married women do tend to look at your differently if they are with their spouse and you are alone, however, when it is just the girls it is ok. Not all of us single people are trying to get a man, nevertheless, steal one.
