This crisis is about fear and the fragile thread that holds "societies" together. For anybody that has lived in war, economic upheaval, or natural disaster knows, things can go from normal to bad really quickly. As the amount of confirmed cases of Ebola approach 5,000 in West Africa, The region is beginning to struggle with a total breakdown of society. The hospitals have been closed...not just for Ebola patients, but for ALL patients, medicines proper gear, and medical supplies are nowhere to be found, food inflation is rising out of control, police and ambulance services are not functioning....Total societal breakdown is near. This is the real threat of Ebola. How do you fight a deadly disease when there is no society, no rule of law, and quite soon massive Quarantine areas. There is only one answer and its not very good.... You bring in the (foreign) troops!! [link to www.nytimes.com] Things are gonna get bad. Its not a H1N1 crisis its a SHTF crisis. No one seems to get this.
