My advice is this...

Chicks don't like the shrill ninja style rice burners...

They like the more confortable (for passengers) road bikes and choppers.

Just like there are bike cliques, there are bike chick cliques.

But yeah I know what you mean, go to a Harley rally and yeah there will be some hotties, but there will also be old floppy titties and harpoon scars and stretched out tattoos. Yuck.

ha... 1st off, your advice is just wrong. a lot of women love crotch rockets. just depends on whose riding it... 2nd, if you are riding only to pick up women then in my opinion, you are lame. you probably are some weekend warrior harley pirate fag. choppers arent even comfortable, you dumb shit.

Thank you for having a quiet one. Nothing more scum baggish then when one of those loud muffler ones come sputtering down the street. If a muffler sounded like that on a car it would fail inspection and be driven by a crack addict wif no teef.

You have at least some class enough to have a proper muffler system
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1692875

This times infinity.

Yes my bike is all stock and very quiet. In fact if I could make the air intake noise quieter easily, I would.

For me the true joy is just puttering along 25-30 mph with my helmet off (I ride with it on in traffic/main roads and high speed, but choose to legally ride with it off in rural areas going slow) feeling the breeze and taking in the sights. Fall colors are kicking in big time where I am.

I appreciate how you can enjoy the roads without calling attention to yourself. Hope to see you out cruising the land of the brave and free sometime soon!

I think my dream bike is a 6cylinder goldwing. The aspencade model. Man it would be so smooth and quiet.

Pack up enough gear and supplies and ride across the upper peninsula and through Canada around superior.

We have a 78 honda cb400 tII hawk in the shed that needs some help, but is at 4,500 miles and complete. It needs a battery, and the kick starter is stripped and a cylinder is possibly frozen so probably needs a tear down. I just want to know is there a way to make that cylinder fire once to see if i can free the cylinder? Or maybe I could use a hardwood dowel through the spark plug hole? And also is my bike 12v or 6v electronics? I want to use my 12V lawnmower battery to see if the wiring is ok without blowing it up.

Two wheels and the wind in your face makes anything cool I don't care what it is.

I can't stand the egomaniacs that think you have to ride this or that because it's all about ego in that case.

I have never liked the ninja type bike, I have always been more if a cruiser guy myself but to each thier own, as long as they are riding safely and respecting the 4 wheelers on the road while having fun.

My first bike was a 1986 Honda rebel cmx 250 - a poor mans Harley as they call it. I loved that little bike and rode it everywhere. When my kids were older and I had a little more money saved I finally bought the Harley I always wanted - a used 1988 sportster 883 hugger.

I love that bike too, I always wanted a Harley, but I kept the Honda because she was my first motorcycle crush and my 15 year old son is now learning to ride it.

The Harley I have is a little modified with some extra chrome because that's my thing, but when I pull into a lot with alot of other riders thier Harley's are all usually bigger, nicer, etc etc.

The point is there will always be a fancier more expensive bigger bike to chase after that's how the builders make thier money.

Ride what you love, have fun and be safe and courteous doing it and don't let anyone put you down for what you ride - 2 wheels and they wind in your face is always a good time. Even though I have a hard time doing it, I am polite and even wave at the Vespa riders lol!

Yes I dig a guy on a bike but only because I have always been around bikes too(some woman are scared or intimidated by a guy on a bike). I also started on dirt bikes and 3-wheelers (showing my age here)and then on to 4-wheelers. When I met my husband he had a Harley and I have since bought a Honda. When we take the Harley out we definitely get more looks as it is flashy and loud but it feels safer on the Harley because of the noise (loud pipes save lives! ) but the Honda by far is more comfortable for a long ride!!Absolutely love riding too!!!!!! :)

Squirt some dot 3 brake fluid in the spark plug hole, if the cylinder can been freed up with being taken apart, this will do the trick.

Find the 17mm hex head plug that is removed when adjusting the valves, there will be a 17mm bold head under it that you can turn clockwise with a wrench to try to free up the engine.

Until you can turn it over and over by hand with a wrench with both spark plugs out, do not try to turn it over with the starter. But no your mower battery won't hurt it, it's a 12 volt system.

unless the engine had water leak into the cylinder causing it to rust and stick, there is very likely something else wrong that needs further troubleshooting.

When I hear about barn/shed finds with low miles you have to ask why did the bike get parked and left for years.

How far can ya jump it? chuckle

I had a similar street bike. '82 'Zuki GS650G in near showroom condition. Sold it 2 months ago for 2k! (paid 1k 7 years ago) That and selling my CRF250R to fund a brand new CRF450R.

I just get bored on the street. It's funny, though. I feel safer hitting a rhythm section of big jumps than I do riding on a congested 25mph road.

Safe travels! Just remember... Every single person on the road is out to kill you. If you see it that way you just might survive.

It's smooth quiet small and lightweight, enough power for fun and it gets 50 mpg.

It's a 83 650 Honda, I have about $700 total into it. And chicks still check me out all the time even though it's not a "cool" motorcycle by any means.

Please no brand bashing, it's about the love of two wheels.

I don't get the whole bike thing. When I was younger I did the off-road dirt bike thing, but now as an adult I have no desire for it.

Most of the riders I see are idiots weaving through traffic. Or a bunch of menopausal old men parked at the donut comparing penises err I mean Harley's. Dressed in leather and pretending they are "bikers".

I just think these guys are no different then the other old guys who buy a vette when they hit 50 and start going bald.

If a woman is interested in a guy because he rides a bike, I would not be interested in her, its a turn off, just like tats on a woman... makes me thinks she "dirty"

Start small, there are cheap small light 250 Honda rebels that are the best place for a new rider to start. And the safety course is a good idea too.

Yeah I've ridden a few. Really like the nimble 250F but I race a vet class and they all ride 450's so I'm at a little disadvantage in the holeshot. Everywhere else I'm just as fast or faster than them but the holeshot's where it matters most.

There's a dealership around here that still has new '13's so I'm gonna go lowball the shit outta them with a wad of cash. I'm willing to bet they'll take it.

I don't care how long you have been riding.
I've been riding off and on 32 years and I learned a lot.
The teach you stuff that could very well save your
life and/or teach you to ride even if you have never
been on a bike.

I plan on taking an advanced class followed by a high performance class.
