Turkey is not the Ukraine, and Turkey is part of NATO. Russia would buy a large can of whoop-ass if it declared war on the Turks. Turkey has the largest military in the ME. It can call up over 1,040,900 troops and has an 11 billion dollar a year defence budget. All very modern equipment too.

I doubt it will go that far but we never know.
Depends if Turkey makes any move and what kind of move they make if any.

I rather think Turkey will use the US forces to do the dirty work for them.

You fail to fully understand the breadth of what is happening in Europe, the Middle East, Russia. This is not about Turkey or ISIS/IL. This is a currency war, my friend and US troops and NATO troops WILL be engaged to this end.

in a conventional war yeah, but Russia and US won't attack each other with nuclear weapons, at least not before they attack some neighbour countries just to show that they mean business, and they will 99% settle for a deal later

The warhead count for the Russians, based the Sept. 1 report required under the 2010 New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), shows an increase of 131 warheads since the last declaration on March 1.

The U.S. reported a warhead increase of 57 during the same period. It is not clear why the warhead numbers increased.

also Article 5 can only be used when Turkey isn't being an aggressor in this case its not easy to remain objective, while determining this, in the event of any attack

Acc to IRNA Iranian FM phoned Turkish counterpart: Regional countries should act responsibly and not help the situation getting worse.

How strange a world it is where Turkey acts on behalf of the Kurds----one could be forgiven if one thought that Turkey must have arranged some secret deal with another party to make it appealing to Turkey. We are not privy to that info and will have to watch as events unfold. In any event, cudos to the Kurds and the wrath of hell on Isis.

Are Turkish troops able to enter into Kobane in the name of 'fighting ISIS'? How does Assad and Putin feel about that?
