That forces a huge ridge of high pressure up the west coast into Alaska. The warm pool is still there and is forecast to remain there through the upcoming winter. If that holds true it wont be good for California at all.Of course its still very early to forecast but... |

[link to s728.photobucket.com] I really hope things improve.I dont think many people have thought about how bad this is going to affect everyone as it continues to get worse. We depend on California for a lot, probably a lot more than most realize, and if they dont produce then it has to be gotten elsewhere at much higher prices IF IT CAN BE GOTTEN AT ALL. That aside its going to be a terrible loss to people property wise and many other ways.Just a sad desperate situation getting worse by the day. |

Then after a few weeks of record setting rain last June, none of the state of Minnesota was in drought. It sounds corny, it can happen, and it did here! |

Not only does your football team ruin your dreams and hopes, so does mother nature. You should move north. To Washington. Where dreams are made instead of shattered. |

Why has the drought gone on so long? Quoting: Prophet 56933500 There is currently no explanation to thew warm temperatures off the coast. The drought may be tied to the warm northern pacific waters hindering the jetstream to head up north instead of south. That is just a theory at this point. |

Unfortunately it will considerably weaken with a ridge trying to build in. Quoting: #Geomagnetic_Storm# [link to www.weatherwest.com] It took 8 years to fill Lake Mead after the Hoover Dam was built. ...and consider the population and the water use back then versus now. Even a hurricane is not going to stop what is going on. A hurricane may slow the process down a bit.....but it's not going to stop the weather pattern change that is going on. |
