MtBarb User ID: 29714721 United States 09/28/2014 12:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's what i'd like to know too. Nobody knows...they're all just making wise cracks... From what I understand, when the British gave up control to Red China in 1997, Red China promised to have one country, two systems. Hong Kong would remain politically independent. Last month, Red China announced some changes for the 2017 elections. 1. Red China, not the people of Hong Kong, will hand pick who gets to run for office in Hong Kong. 2. The courts will not remain independent in Hong Kong. Red China will be able to overturn every single decision made by the Hong Kong courts. 3. All political dissent in Hong Kong will be made criminal/outlawed. Not Cool. But not unexpected. Red China must have made one hell of a deal with London for London to agree to give Hong Kong up in the first place. Like Red China would not go back on their word. We had it on a lease and the lease expired. We didn't hand it over because of some deal struck with Red China... Why couldn't we have obeyed the Federal Reserve Charter, which expired this year, and get rid of those b--s--tards? But NOOOO, the congress just let the date pass unheeded. MtBarb |

krax User ID: 62340300 Slovakia 09/28/2014 01:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.paulcraigroberts.org] Obama told China that Washington intended to continue to be a Pacific power in China’s sphere of influence, “promoting peace, stability, and the free flow of commerce among nations” by building new US air and naval bases from the Philippines to Vietnam so that Washington can control the flow of resources in the South China Sea and cut off China at will. As far as I can tell, neither the Russian nor Chinese governments understand the seriousness of the threat that Washington represents. Washington’s claim to world hegemony seems too farfetched to Russia and China to be real. But it is very real. By refusing to take the threat seriously, Russia and China have not responded in ways that would bring an end to the threat without the necessity of war. ... Russia and China have been slow, even negligent from the standpoint of defending their sovereignty, to take advantage of opportunities to undermine this pillar of Washington’s power. For example, the BRICS’ talk of abandoning the dollar payments system has been more talk than action. Russia doesn’t even require Washington’s European puppet states to pay for Russian natural gas in rubles. Last Edited by krax on 09/28/2014 01:42 PM |

Thousands protest in Moscow over Russia's involvement in Ukraine [link to www.theguardian.com] China is the largest FOREIGN holder of US debt; MOST US debt is internal, domestically held. The US is as legitimate a Pacific power as China. You do know the US borders the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic, right? The US also has sovereign territory in the Pacific, a massive foot print in the Arctic, and solemn binding treaties with Pacific rim nations. China can just deal with it. |

Capturing their successful neighbors and profit from them. It sounds like Ukraine and Russia also, except Ukraine is fighting back.
