WRONG. People already HAVE BEEN FREAKING OUT FOR MONTHS AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TELL THE THICK-SKULLED "MAINSTREAM MEDIA" THAT IT NEEDS TO BE CONCERNED. The "FREAK-OUT" is just because of the actual confirmation of someone with Ebola HERE now. Those of us with any intelligence WHATSOEVER...or at the least, those who CARED...could see this coming back in APRIL and MAY.

Let there be NO DOUBT that some group or organization INTENDED for there to be an Ebola outbreak in this country. Many WILL die from this outbreak, and unfortunately, since there are SO MANY IDIOTS in the U.S., it will be another case of "seeing is believing." Yeah - THEN it is TOO LATE. Even NOW medical organizations aren't preparing and taking action, and no one is educating people and teaching them how to help prevent the spread.

He didn't. He sought treatment two days after showing symptoms. They sent him home and then he ends up being brought back by ambulance two days after that. So, four days of symptoms before being admitted and isolated.

NEWSFLASH PEOPLE::::: By the time you go to the hospital you've been experiencing HUGE symptoms for DAYS. Who gets a headache and fever and runs straight to the hospital? ESPECIALLY IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY!

Good points, people do live check to check and will go on until the last possible minute, which may be too late. It's an internal debate I've been struggling with all day.

Also, Americans travel, as a way of life. Far and frequent. Multiple sporting events in DFW over the past weekend, plus the state fair. Lot's of people in town from all over.

The travel factor could speed up any outbreak greatly, and the sheer numbers could spread it all over the country, or even the continent in very short order.

Soooooo, he had healthcare worker contact when he first felt ill, and was sent home. Now, presumably that healthcare worker was practicing standard hand washing protocols, but as an RN myself, I know that there are many, many opportunities to spread infection when not involved in STRICT HAZMAT/BIOLOGICAL ISOLATION protocols. So, this initial healthcare contact could have potentially spread this beast exponentially. Fuck.
