"The Spoon," "The Cookie" and "The ONE" as symbols? Your interpretation? Video
Taking a script writing class at my college.
Could you guys help me out?

In terms of the powerful use of symbols in
current movies--what would you consider the
most important symbols (which actually carried
the theme of the movie) in the movie "The Matrix?"

I've identified the "spoon" (or the no-spoon)
as one and the Oracle's cookie as another important
one. Of course, NEO being "The One" is also
not only his part to play in the movie, but also
an archetype symbol that is very important in
most major religions. What other symbols are in
the movie?

What would the "spoon" and the "cookie" symbolize in
the movie "The Matrix" if you were to write a
college paper about them? Which would you think
is the most important symbol and why?

I don't know about the spoon and cookie but... I think the use of the telephone as a means of connecting to the matrix was much more symbolic. Expressing the true importance of our Foundation in technology.

I mean, in this holographic world of the matrix, people living in a simulated 3 dimensional VR, connected by brain implants and monitored by autonomous robots (SEEKERS), those that broke free and wish to traverse back and forth must do so by using a telephone?

Come on man. Obvious symbolism there.

Great! Thanks...I didn't even think about the
telephone as being a symbol. You are right!

The cookie isn't the one.

And no spoon is silvermoon or euh that other ahole disliked spoons for eating something others did different.

....cookies come from tarwe like beer pasta bread euh blhblh they are mostly brown like chocolate....

And when a fruit touches the ground it decays and the cookie shows that as main food ?

So whatever is made for eating it is a almost completely decayed cookie as society

the matrix is using symbolism that connects the mind, heart and soul

the spoon refers to the mind (Geller, the mentalist, etc), the cookie the heart (mother figure baking cookies in the kitchen which is the "heart" of the house)

Morpheus is the symbol character for the mind, Trinity for the heart, Neo for the soul/spirit

Neo's changes of eyes/glasses at the different points on the movie.

Same with his nemesis.

Neo's right eye, vs nemesi's left eye.

First scene where I noticed the eye was when Neo wakes up, actor has contact lenses in one eye to showcase the change.

The eye is an occult symbol, spirits, demonic possession and stuff, eye of horus, iluminati n son.
