OP is a nurse, so now she is an insider, LOL.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63493845

"Insider" is not exclusive to politics or banking.

She's an "Insider" to the hospital. Get it?

You go ahead and try get info on what's happening at the hospital...

You can just rely on "inside" info the msm feeds you
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63465364

She doesn't work at the hospital where the Ebola patient is isolated, so no she is not an insider.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63494236

Local outsider, regional insider.

She is still able to see it first hand outside the hospital unlike many of us online. Relying on news and others to disseminate the truth.

Re: Insider Info - what they're not telling you about Dallas Ebola
I am a sales rep and I sell infectious disease equipment into hospitals. My docs have told me that there are three other infected in different hospitals. It will be made public within next two days. Our sales have skyrocketed. The problem is that the only thing that kills Ebola is bleach. Buy bleach and prepare to be on lock down in your houses for the next two months to wait out the infection.

The government is really dragging their feet here. They don't want panic but they do believe that it is isolated. They are nuts!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62255567

Are these three different hospitals all in Texas or are they in three states???

If patients did there pre-surgery labs on campus they will now be delayed 21 additional days and have to retest. That's got to tell you something.
 Quoting: Bright Side

I don't understand this. Why would an ebola patient affect anyone else's lab tests? Cross contamination risk?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12630340

People receiving tests had to come TO THE HOSPITAL to have their blood drawn. That's where/when the contamination could happen. Especially if this situation has been brewing for a little longer than they are letting on.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52395565

If the virus is aerosolized, if that patient sat in a small room, sneezing and coughing while having blood drawn, small droplets may have been left on the tables, seat handles, etc. so the NEXT patient in there would pick some up - and so on....

Not the lab TESTS, per se, that would be contaminated, but the patients themselves.

Re: Insider Info - what they're not telling you about Dallas Ebola
I can guarantee that the gossip in a hospital ER is FAST.

I was in the ER last Monday. My walk in health clinic hit the "panic" button", because I went in complaining about double vision, and I they couldn't read my blood pressure.

When they finally got a reading of 255/185, the head doctor rushed into the room, and kept saying "I am so sorry.", and told me an ambulance was on the way and they were sending me to the ER.

Wouldn't let me drive. Pretty much told me they were kicking me out.

While stuck in the ER for the next 9 hours, hooked up to an automated BP cuff, with the High reading going off every 20 minutes, every single ER staff member who entered my room said the same thing.....

"So you're 'that guy'".

Evidently, everyone was shocked that I was alive, walking, breathing, and operating normally, with a BP that would kill most normal men.

The gossip channel was alive and well. I bet it must have been 6 or 7 people who said those exact same words...

There were so many people exposed from the labs, to the bathroom, nurses, doctors, patients that they probably are assuming any or all could have been exposed. That guy was pretty far gone and they let him go....

Glad the truth is coming out. Are they contacting and quarantining everyone that for instance went to the lab, etc?

I take it your surgeries were cancelled......be safe.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32372061

Are you retarded, ebola spread through fluids, being in the same room as somebody with ebola is not gonna get you infected.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63493340

You are dangerously wrong.

A sneeze can and WILL release ebola into the atmosphere among the water vapors. It is not light enough to remain suspended but it can float around for several minutes AND survive that time in the air.

It isn't airborne by definition but it CAN be transmitted via water vapor from an infected person.

Which means YOU CAN contract it from the same room.

Unless you think the workers in Africa are stupid for wearing respiratory protection.

As the OP has a regular screen name and apparently a respectable posting history, I'm filing this under "innocent until proven guilty of BS" and applaud her courage in stepping forward.

Anybody who has had any kind of contact with the medical community on any level knows that it's a clusterfuck of epic proportions without something like Ebola. We should carefully study all information offered on the subject.

As many of y'all know I am an RN. I pull a couple shifts a week at various ER thru a temping agency (allowing me to keep my skills sharp) but my main gig is with a well known plastic surgeon in the area.

Most of his work is very private (niche hospitals) and recovery takes place in a non traditional hospital setting etc.

Occasionally though and especially for pro-bono cases we will use area hospitals - Presbyterian is one of those hospitals.

According to the news, life is normal at Presbyterian sans the single isolation patient.

Nothing could be further from the truth. All elective surgeries have ceased - not even routed to different hospitals. If patients did there pre-surgery labs on campus they will now be delayed 21 additional days and have to retest. That's got to tell you something.

I'll post more info as I get it - supposedly legal has sent out a notice barring anyone discussing the matter but I am not their employee.

I don't think that the government believes this incident is isolated...not one bit! I think they are waiting for it to be so spread around to a point that there is no containing it. Then, of course, they will bring out the ebola vaccine that was created, and most people will be in a panic, and will get vaccinated. LOTS of money to be had!

Atlanta.. that city keeps popping up all over the radar on this thing. From what I've read there's been at least 5 different strains registered & patented by the CDC in Atlanta.

Presbyterian is the perfect petri-dish for this thing.. if any one can get this pandemic started, it's Presbyterian. blobr

For those who keep throwing out the B.S. flags:

Maybe gossip is not always 100% correct. But, I would take OP's word over MSM any day of the week.

Do yourself a favor before labeling B.S. to everything. Use your head. Do you seriously think you are getting the full and true story from your news outlets?

Keep this in mind. MSM first said there was no threat to Ebola showing up in the U.S. They downplayed the possibility. Now it is here. What do you think their next move is?

5 stars OP. Please keep us informed on any new information.
