Truthserum User ID: 1594166 United States 10/01/2014 03:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They refuse to admit him because his CBC is normal. The Hospital physicians met us in complete suits like CDC. I asked if it was for us and they said no they were getting overwhelmed with people who are sick. Whole families are sick and it is precaution with everyone. Quoting: beyondmatrix There are more hospitals....I can only tell you what I would do if it were my child. My search would begin and NOT end until I fould a hospital that would admit him..... There is only one way to determine what is wrong with a person and that is to conduct tests. Anyone, let me repeat that, ANYONE running a temperature fo 15 days needs to be in a hospital..period. FACTS Don't Give a DAMN about your FEELINGS! |

Antibac wipes at the door of his bedroom and in the bathroom, letting him use 1 for himself only. Also be cautious when handling his eating utensils. Remember, moms usually catch it first. If you list more symptoms he's having, maybe we can help more. |

He started spiking fevers up to 103F+ and it is only controlled by Tylenol and Advil. Quoting: beyondmatrix We have had him to the Family physician, ER and to Hematologist. Next is Infectious Diseases. Every test mono, strep, enterovirus comes back negative. He has lost 12 pounds and it is starting to show on him. Just before that he was so healthy and vibrant what the hell is going on in this country? Anyone, are you seeing anything like this?? Any help would greatly appreciated. Have him eat raw garlic and order some Andrographis. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21482523 United States 10/01/2014 03:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like mono. How many times did they test for it. If only once I would get rechecked. As for zithromax, it probably wont make the virus worse. If it is viral it just will not do anything. Has your son been outside the country or eaten or been exposed to anything that could be fungal or parasitic? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37798924 United States 10/01/2014 04:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My 15 year old son had the same symptoms this past spring. Finally admitted him to the hospital and start all kinds of tests. Abdominal ultrasound found a burst appendix that was very infected. He had no abdominal pain even when they pushed on it. Basically found it by process of elimination looking for the infection. |

Have him stand straight up shoulders back and tell him to look at his feet without bending or moving anything but his head...if it's extremely painful and he can't do it, he probably has meningitis. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Quoting: beyondmatrix All his CBC show normal, except the inflammation test shows his body has inflammation. My spleen (and liver) was enlarged with mono. Sounds a hella-lot like mono symptoms, too. I have heard of people testing negative when they are positive. As a fellow parent, though, my heart to yours..., and I certainly hope your son's health picks up real soon. Yes, went through it with my daughter too when she was a teenager. First they said it was step throat, then after the antibiotics didn't help, they ran more tests and confirmed it was mono. Saying a prayer for your son OP. |

Quoting: beyondmatrix He sleeps a lot but his diet is normal and feels good at times. Just at night he hits 103+ without giving him Tylenol and/ or advil. My husband ran a fever every night for over a year. Turns out it was his teeth and gums infected. So the moral is there are many things that can cause the temp. Find another doctor, if his teeth are bad get him to a dentist. ************************************************************************ Corruptisima re publica plurimae leges. ~ Terence |

What sent us scrambling to the surgeon I worked for was; enlarged lymph nodes popping out under his arms and groin and neck. We were concerned about Hodgkins Disease. But it turned out after 2 rounds of testing that he had mono. A bad case of it. Does your son complain of enlarged painful lymph nodes anywhere on his body ? |

Perhaps there are new strains or false positive? I'm sure every lab and hospital is more bogged down with testing Ebola. What is the treatment for mono anyway? I don't know if they now have a treatment - seriously doubt it, it's caused by a virus - but back in the early 70's the treatment was simply letting the virus run its course. I was sick for four months. Speaking from experience, I do hope it's not mono. The virus that causes mono doesn't leave the body, it just goes dormant. The virus out of dormancy will cause Chronic Fatigue Syndrome if a person's immune system is challenged. Sustained and overbearing stress is a big factor in it reactivating. It is a miserable illness. You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete. -Buckminster Fuller ...I adapt to the unknown, under wandering stars I've grown, by myself, but not alone... When I had it, the only thing the doctor recommended was bed rest. That was not a problem, I was so weak I could barely walk. The worst of it was I was down on New Year's Eve. I was 17. I had a handsome boyfried with a really nice car and we had some big plans. I still remember the pain... It took a long time to get well enough to walk up stairs. ************************************************************************ Corruptisima re publica plurimae leges. ~ Terence |

If a fever last more than 5 days it's bacterial. Could be strep. Sometimes if you get tested too early it doesn't show. My daughter had a viral that led into a secondary bacterial a few years back. One day on antibiotic wiped out the fever. |
