You tell him you dont carry a Drivers License unless your driving.

If you are traveling, your not driving.

Please do start another thread some time to let us know about your successes with the local and state cops, when you explain this to them by the side of the road.

They scream at you and say that driving is Privilege not a Right.


And I explain to them again that I was Not Driving.

The Supreme court ruled traveling in an car is a right....PERIOD!!!

Yes its a word Game.

Driving and Traveling is not the same thing.


We have the Right to Travel.

But to drive you must be Licensed.

Then they impound your vehicle and haul your ass off to jail and say "tell it to the judge in the morning."

Here in CT you can postpone your court date by sending a letter with a copy of your ticket.....EVERY time anyone in my family gets a ticket....they explain they were traveling and not driving at the time the "traffic" ticket was issued and are asking to reschedule their appearance so they will get the chance to appear with a lawyer.......EVERY time....in EVERY case.....the charge is dismissed!...No fooling about this......they were all polite with the cops....took the ticket and used their rights to postpone the appearance date.....each time enclosing a letter making it clear they were traveling and not driving.

Let me state for the record....if you drink and drive.....you need to go to jail till you think that idea out fully

So next time your unlucky enough to take the ticket....try this....you will be happily surprised

If you've paid the money and gone through the process of getting the government required ID, what's the problem with showing it to a cop?

What is wrong with showing ID?

I show my id to people, they show theirs, just to get a laugh at our pics.

I mean seriously, WTF is the big deal? This isn't a home invasion of an anal search.


Some people are too fucking paranoid. Show the darn ID, unless you have something to hide.

Because if you deny it, you pretty much gave the cop a red flag and makes the encounter FAR worse.
