WTF...Ebola Patient Duncan's Family Had To Be Ordered To Stay Home And Not Have Visitors...

Dallas County Health and Human Services officials previously told the four individuals, whose names weren't released, to stay home.

A public health control order is needed to ensure compliance. The orders were hand-delivered Wednesday night.

The four, who have not shown symptoms, must stay home until at least Oct. 19 when the Ebola incubation period has passed.


How many more people have they exposed now that they refused to isolate themselves and why did the CDC not isolate them?

The gall of the family to send kids to school and require an order to stay home, good going CDC for controlling this!

and now everyone and their families who gets sick from anything has to stay home or go to jail and spread it there.

"He's doing all right. He's in our prayers. We are really rooting on him,"Josephus Weeks, Duncan's nephew, told NBC News.

"I'm hoping that he can get the same kind of treatment that was given to the four other patients that survived, and that's my concern."

This is the reason we will see more ebola here!

"Duncan's nephew said his uncle was not properly treated during his initial visit to a Dallas hospital.

Health officials acknowledged that Duncan was initially sent home from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital after complaining of fever and abdominal pain. He returned days later in an ambulance.

"I called CDC to get some actions taken, because I was concerned for his life and he wasn't getting the appropriate care," Weeks said. "I feared other people might also get infected if he wasn't taken care of."

Weeks said the CDC referred him to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, which took appropriate action.

He added that he hoped "nobody else got infected because of a mistake that was made."

"I called the CDC and they instructed me of the process, and that got the ball rolling," Weeks said."

Can they check their mail? Im sure that a daily stroll to the mailbox wouldn't hurt. I mean, really, we all have to venture out to at least check our mail and do our laundry at the facilities, esp if they live in apartment.

I just don't get why the CDC is not more stringent with this....

It's gotta be for a reason....

They also had to be told not to have visitors....I think this family thinks the magic serum is coming thier way after what his nephew said!

The family didn't infect anybody because you are only contagious after you start showing symptoms. And he didn't know he had ebola when he flew here but he did know he had been in contact with someone with ebola and flying here was incredibly selfish on his part. I find the whole thing even scarier because the US has been saying for months that they are completely ready for an ebola outbreak and now they have one and they have just been making mistake after mistake. I think that all flights in and out of the infected west African countries should be cancelled except to send in supplies and health care workers.
