For the last three weeks or so my ears keep feeling like I am up in an airplane. At least this is the best way I know how to describe what I feel. Out of the blue my ears will start to feel like they are closing up and the sound level goes down considerably. Yesterday my nine year old son said, "Something is wrong with my ears, I can't hear very well."
"For how long?" I asked him.
He told me it had started a little while ago. It comes and goes. Now I never told him about me.
We live in Northern Virginia close to DC and within walking distance of the Potomac River.
Anyone have a clue as to what might be going on?
Any helpful information would be most appreciated:) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 107417

It's seismic activity. If you are sensitive to it, quakes or volcanoes anywhere on the planet could be affecting you. Because so many people have the same symptoms at the same time, it points to being most sensitive to the region or fault line with the most stress at the time.
The ear ringing should get more intense, and higher in pitch until right as the quake happens, or volcano. Volcano ringing seems to include a very low pitch, and increasingly high at the same time.
I also get twinges and aching in my gums, and sinuses. I have noticed that with some areas, like SanFranciso, it can be intense.
If you are getting the migraine, tooth, and stomach upsets at about the same time , with low and high pitch ear ringing, be sure it's a volcano.
Anywhere through the center of the US, slighlty east of center, is probably being affected by activity along the New Madrid fault line.
[link to visz.rsoe.hu] & [link to visz.rsoe.hu] are both good links to current activity of all kinds.
It makes it easier to track what is causing your symptoms. Pay attention to sore spots on your skull, and keep track of where the quake happens. It's a trip really. Our heads are like a map of the planet.
I have a blog about this, and keep it as up to date as I can. the link is at the bottom of the post. **** PEACE ****

I believe it is directly related to weather control. How do you get the air masses to move? Well, pressure systems always move from higher density to lower density. Simple, really. So they change the air pressure with HAARP or something in any given place and manipulate the weather in this fashion. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 94722

OP: There are faults here in VA too. There was an earthquake in Richmond two years ago of around 4.5 and it was felt as far as Falls Church where I work. My daughter goes to school in Richmond and felt it. It was pretty big news. So, don't be deceived that there are no earthquakes around here. Maryland has them too. Quoting: Pink

To tell you the truth, I have NO idea what it is. I have ideas but no proof. I have facts that don't add up, but that's it. I suppose I will never know. In the meantime I sure hope it doesn't get any worse for my son and me. |

 | | Re: WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE AIR PRESSURE? | Quote | OP: Hope you and your son feel better soon. If it is earthquake related, you are a "earth-sensitive" soul. I don't know if its better to be one of those people who go around oblivious to their surroundings or someone who is sensitive and can feel life happening around them. I think I'd rather be the latter even though it's a pain in the ass having symptons. |

I would best describing it as a pulsating feeling in my ears and my hearing. I thought that perhaps it was my blood pressure doing strange things. Btw, Northern California foothills here reporting in..... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 22799 7/24/2006 5:08 AM | | Re: WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE AIR PRESSURE? | Quote | Lone Wolf,
If you're in NoCal and are getting the pressure/tone wave thing going on, you're probably sensitive to earthquakes.
They're not necessarily local though (they could be halfway across the world); one theory is that people are more sensitive to tectonic activity worldwide when they live near a tectonically active area (like on the west coast of the US for example), since plate pressure changes carry across the entire crust.
On the west coast for example, sensitive folks are often attuned to various Ring Of Fire earthquake activity (anything related to the very large Pacific plate or adjacent areas like Indonesia). So it's possible your ear changes are indicative of activity that may be local or may be quite a distance away.
Of course if you get a really short and sharp pressure difference or short very loud ear tone, that may be indicative of more immediate local activity coming up, and may be worth paying attention to. |

Hi, OP here. Thank you for posting. WIthout being too specific, could you give a little bit more direction as where you are located in Alaska, ie., east, west, north, south...thanks:) |
