A complete maintenance overhaul, known as a "D check" or "heavy maintenance visit," includes replacing carpets and seat covers. Such an overhaul is scheduled every five years or so.

A large jet can weigh up to 300 pounds less after such a cleaning, according to the book "Full Upright and Locked Position" by Mark Gerchick, the former chief"

To me this screams desperation and worry.... as ebola moves along it current path the first economic signs we will see will be in airlines/tourist/travel industry failures...

yeah just the most insane of times of an example of the establishments corperate greed. Even it may cost lives still want more can't setlle for less. wow unbelievable where is the moral fibre.
