I am in Eastern North Carolina and ordered a dvd from an Amazon seller in Western North Carolina and had to wait an ungodly amount of time for it to get here because the shipping company they used had a hub in Georgia where the package was sent down to before being sent back up to NC! I can get packages from California quicker than I can from my own state! WTF?? If I was that seller I would change carriers!

It's because whoever you ordered it from (could have been a reseller on Amazon) decided to ship it via FedEx SmartPost. It's is a cheaper shipping method that drops your package off with the postal service for the actual delivery, and sometimes takes a couple of extra days.

I use Amazon Prime for $99 a year. With that I get most products 2 day shipping for free or $3.99 next day. With Amazon Prime I also get free movie streaming included in that $99. Only issue I have ever had with shipping was on Dec 24th for Christmas and that was a UPS issue not Amazon. I order stuff almost every week the last few years with no issues. I am also in SC. I think the PRIME makes all the difference.

It's FedEx SmartPost. FedEx picks it up and delivers it to the local post office through FedEx Ground (this speeds it up). Then, it's delivered by the USPS. Not sure why the post office wouldn't have delivered yet.

Unless you pay Priority and get it in 1-2 days, your parcel is going to be put on whatever is available and/or whatever is moving, so it will get shuffled around, wherever there is space. It is just like the airlines, when you are on Standby and are just taking the super-econo routes. You'll get shuffled around until you finally make it home, after about 3-4 other stopovers. But, you save a ton of money.

Choice is to pay more and get it fast, or pay less and have them dick you around.

I ordered a blu ray player from Walmart, got some pyrex pans and a personal massager. FedEx screwed up took 2 weeks to get a dvd player re-shiped
