{Epona} User ID: 63523755 United Kingdom 10/06/2014 01:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A spanish nurse who attended the priest from Liberia, at hospital Carlos III, tested positive for Ebola in Alcorcon, Madrid. It's the first positive case in Europe. Quoting: pekovic More to follow [link to elpais.com] That priest dude died more than 21 days ago I thought though. When did the nurse test positive? I can't read Spanish. Second missionary that died a couple of weeks ago, not the first one that died in August. INTJ women - 0.8% of the population Rules, limitations and traditions are anathema to the INTJ personality type - everything should be open to questioning and reevaluation, and if they see a way, INTJs will often act unilaterally to enact their technically superior, sometimes insensitive, and almost always unorthodox methods and ideas. |

That's what makes this scary. That means that this strain of Ebola is highly infectious. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63373855 Yeah, it was one thing when the doctors and nurses in Liberia were coming down with it. They could always just blame the conditions, despite that they were all fully protected. This happening in Spain, a first world country, is going to be heard loud and clear, across America, by our health care workers, that you can wear whatever gear you want, and you can still get it. She is said to used very strict protacals....never came in contact with bodily fluids...according to one report, the caregivers used 'level 4' hazmat protacals Time to formulate the level 5, 6 and 7 too I think |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59282907 Well, she has to take it off sometime... Yes, but they are suggesting she touched something she she shouldnt, already out of the patients room in some special decontamination room... One minor slip up, and a professional nurse in Level 4 gear is probably gonna die, and yet, somehow, five people in a small apartment in Dallas, completely unprotected and sleeping in the same bed the guy puked all over, are all gonna be just fine, because it's that hard to catch. They just published an article today that said there was only a 14 percent chance of it reaching Spain. Lying Bastards! What is worse is that she contracted this at Carlos III hospital in Madrid and now they are treating her at a different hospital on the outskirts. Sure seems like they are trying hard to spread this shit around, doesn't it? Last Edited by Eddie The5thHorse on 10/06/2014 02:13 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 53938481 Netherlands 10/06/2014 02:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You do realize mutation is good.. It has a good chance of mutating to a less lethal variant. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63169132 Not exactly correct. Mutation is whatever it is; just as likely to be bad (as in becomes easier to spread, even if loses some lethality). I think this is what is happening, it is becoming easier to spread...the quickness that it attacks our organs and immune systems might become less...but it is getting past hazmat suits? More people will come down with it... Some creatures even love radiactiviteit. Others eat rubber... |

nancy2001 User ID: 60610925 United States 10/06/2014 02:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This news is very disturbing. As the events of the past week have shown, we can't count on the government or healthcare institutions to keep Ebola in check. I'm not a prepper, but I started stocking up on food and protective supplies a few days ago and will now step things up. Incidentally, this is my very first post. I joined GLP a few minutes ago because it has the most up to date information on Ebola, things I haven't found anywhere else. Not every story pans out, but a careful reader can easily separate the wheat from the chaff. nancy2001, USA |
