Reminds of the story last year about the bomb they found on the side of the highway in California.

That is all the information he had to offer. I figured they must have had a briefing on it this am, but I am not sure. He said the accident was between 2 civilian trucks and the missile was revealed because of the accident. Other than that I cannot offer any further information because I have none.

Another false flag attempt thwarted by government incompetence.

That will teach them not to transport weapons of mass destruction through New York traffic!

I-95 South Reopens After Tomahawk Missile Accident

NEW YORK (WCBS-AM) -- A Tomahawk Cruise Missile being transported south on I-95 this morning ended up in the middle of the highway near the Bronx.

The missile was being shipped from Rhode Island to a Virginia naval installation when the truck broke down. The truck carrying the missile was then rear ended by another tractor trailer, sending the missile out onto the highway in its protective case.

The New York City Police Department has confirmed that one of the vehicles was carrying "inert ordinance." WCBS reporter Sean Adams has gotten confirmation from the New York City Fire Department that the cargo of the flat-bed was a Tomahawk missile. It is important to emphasize that the missile was not armed.

Cars are now rolling again.

The NYPD bomb squad was called to the scene of the accident to remove the ordnance.

Truck carrying Tomahawk missile overturns

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEW YORK -- A tractor-trailer carrying a test missile collided with another truck during the morning rush hour Friday, sparking a call to the bomb squad before authorities determined the missile was inert.

No injuries were reported. Authorities said it was a Tomahawk test missile.

"It is considered to be technically a training/testing device," said Joseph Green, spokesman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The New York Police Department bomb squad went to the accident scene on Interstate 95, where the tractor-trailer had overturned, and determined no danger existed.

"Information provided by the NYPD to the ATF was that there was no explosive material or triggering mechanism to fire the missile," Green said.

Was it the truck driver's fault?

why is there a civilian vehicle transporting a missle?

Either way, he's probably fired. It's a sad reality, but trucking companies are pretty brutal with their drivers with this type of thing and an accident often leads to a pink slip.

As long as the freight company has the US clearance and licenses to carry this type of material, they can ship it that way. They just mis-shipped a missile component to my office 2 weeks ago by accident and it was a private carrier as well. It should have never made it past the gate, but somehow it did and I was not at all happy about it. No boom booms please..

I saw the container in the back of the truck and I was like

No it don't usualy lead to a pink slip unless you are drunk or under influence of drugs. I speak from personal experiance. Shit happens and trucks breakdown, fact of life.

Can you imagine if it really was armed? Here is the potential payload if that were the case...

I am sure glad it didn't land in my backyard...

Especially if this was his fault, he is probably in deep doo-doo. I know a couple truck drivers personally, as they happen to be members of my family through marriage and one of them was fired for having an accident in his truck, even though he tried to warn the company that the roads were too icy to make the trip. They told him that they were perishables and he had to go. He slid off the highway in a freezing rain storm and the company gave him a pinkslip. He told me that it probably had to do with the companies insurance policy and not so much the accident. I suppose it is all a matter of where and who you work for...

Is it unionized?

It wouldn't be armed or have a warhead. No civilian no matter what would transport it without military escort.

The fuses/detonators and warheads are all sh ipped and assmebled on the ships or at the military destination.

...not why is it legal, but why is happening. Your experience and the example of the situation we are discusing should be rational why this should not be legal.
However this should raise at least one eyebrow. A little reading between the lines here is what i was sugesting.
