Pork blood used to process/bleach refined white sugar. GROSS
I was sitting with my 77-year-old father this afternoon talking and he told me the reason he would never eat white sugar is because it is processed with pork's blood. I have known this man for 45 years, and he neglected until this time to let me in on this little tidbit of info. WTF??? I googled it and he is right, which he usually is. Processed sugar is bleached with a solution of pork byproducts (blood, albumin and/or animal charcoal). Thought I would share the info.

Genuinie raw sugar cannot be bought or sold in the US. Pardon the cut and paste, but here is what I found.

Some cane refineries do not use bone char. Refined Sugar, producers of Jack Frost Sugar, claim to use a granular carbon instead of bone char for economic reasons. Florida Crystal sugar is a cane sugar which has not passed through the bone. Although Florida Crystals sugar has a straw colour, the impurities have been removed.

Some labels on sugar packages seem to indicate that the product is raw sugar, but all commercial sugar has undergone some refining. Genuine raw sugar cannot be bought and sold to the general consumer in the United States according to Food and Drug Administration regulations, as it is unfit for human consumption.

Give me a fucking break. bsflag "blackherbals.com" is not the New England Journal of Medicine. If you want to base everything you eat or drink on "pseudo-science" from an unverified website, you deserve all the misery you get from fucking up your own life. INVESTIGATE THIS STUFF BEFORE BELIEVING IT!!!!

Interesting.
But what is wrong with that?
Apart the bad news for muslims and jews, of course.
Some could also think that if something is bad news for muslims and jews, then it is actually good news.

New England Journal of Medicine.

Oh gawd!

Find a copy of Morris A. Bealle's
THE DRUG STORY, or THE NEW DRUG STORY
any edition. Gain a different perspective on all things "Medical" in the USA. First published in 1949 and many editions subsequent.

I have the last revised edition around here somewhere.

Here's a sample from

[link to www.angelfire.com]

What Nujol Started

Thirty years ago the Standard Oil Company became impressed with the methods of the big packing houses which used, processed and sold every part of the hog but the squeal.

Their sales research department went way back to the 1860's when "Old Bill" Rockefeller, the itinerant pappy of John D. (the first) and a patent medicine showman, used to palm off bottled raw petroleum on the yokels as a cure for cancer.

"Old Bill" was an upstate New York farmer, until 1850. He moved to Cleveland then, entered the patent medicine racket and had himself listed as a "physician" in the city directory. In selling raw petroleum in a pretty bottle "Old Bill" did nothing new.

He merely took a page out of the book of other patent medicine fakers who were then hawking their wares from the backs of wagons - covered and uncovered. When oil was discovered in northwest Pennsylvania (1850) the jackals of the oil trade found there was more gold in the jeans of the gullible yokels than there was in working for it in the oil fields.

They began to bottle the raw petroleum and palm it off under various names as a cure for everything under the sun. The popular maladies of the day were liver complaint, cholera morbus, consumption and bronchitis. Among the names given this raw petroleum were "Seneca Oil", "Rock Oil" and "American Medicinal Oil".

"Old Bill" opened up a new field for himself. He called his bottled petroleum "Nujol" (meaning new oil) and sold it to those who had cancer and those whom he could make fear they would have it.

This sounded good to Standard's researchists. It sounded even better when they found it cost but $2.00 a barrel to concoct Nujol from crude petroleum. And that from one barrel of the raw stuff they could make 1,000 six-ounce bottles of finished Nujol. Instead of calling it a cure for cancer they called it a cure for constipation.

The latest trade catalog lists Nujol as going to the druggist at 28-2/3 cents a half pint (8 fluid ounces). The druggist thus pays about 21 cents for a 6-ounce bottle of Nujol which costs Standard Oil 1/5 of a cent.

87055 .... Ranting at the poster of the blackherbal.com info only CONFIRMS your desire to 'shoot the messenger' when the message is NOT what one desies to hear.
Agreed that some of the statements were generalized, but did you know the doctors only get ONE course in vitamines/nutrition while in college ? They, as a group, are about the LEAST informed of ANY on nutrition, AND, furthermore, DON'T want to hear about it !
Ever notice how many are overweight and DON'T live past 60 ?

Now, go back to your jellie doughnuts and soda pop !

Some people are so blind..thinking that the consumption of pork is not allowed only to muslims and jews...The Bible crearly states that it is an unclean animal (Leviticus 11 & deutoronomy 14)an none should eat of it. Isaiah 66:4,15-17

Stevia is great in drinks as a sweetner. Grown in South America and comes in liquid or crystals. Lot sweeter than sugar. Dosn't take but a few drops in a cup of coffee.
