I was in Lowes yesterday in north Florida. Although I needed some plumbing fixtures, there were 3 very dark-skinned guys right in front of where the pieces were. At least one of them had a heavy "African" accent. Instead of grabbing the parts, I left the store! This was a complete reflex action. I never really thought about it, I just got out of there!
Am I being paranoid?
