There was never a concern for the USA to experience widespread computer problems, but there was a possibility that some third world countries may experience some glitches. The concern was that because of real time news reporting that any country coming into the new year ahead of the USA & experiencing computer glitches would cause widespread panic in the CONUS! Everything was based on getting real time intel & having contingency plans put in place to deal/quell public panic/civil disorder. The Govt number one weapon is hiding the truth because of the possibility of panic which would lead to a breakdown in goods & services ultimately resulting in widespread public disorder. Knowing this, one must constantly evaluate and re-evaluate circumstances. Do what you think is best for you & your family! Good luck everyone! Here in India, nobody cared half a fark for Y2K. There wasn't any panic anywhere. Nobody gave a shit for Y2K. Man has been around too long to be worried about a computer glitch. The only panic was created in tv.
