Awesome pics, Dr., as always!
=-)
cheers

My pleasure! Now if I could just get the moon to move off I'd be set to get some more. Not looking good tonight though. The moonlight is making my image a mediocre one at best.

you talking about the star that's just below and slightly to the left of Orion and it's belt?

I'm more interested in the star right by the moon

You noticed that too?? I'm just north of seattle, and I saw that. Very strange. Usually, the moonlight blocks out most stars, but THIS is interesting

On a side note, been watching these lights for days.

Im in Mi. Most of the stars I can see right now look like police cars parked in the sky :)

Get out your binos. They do look like police lights hehe , pretty cool.

Algieba in the Leo Constellation? I dunno. Seems like that's what my Star Walk app says. Just down and to the left of Jupiter, which is bright in the Eastern sky here in Texas.

Algieba would have barely been above the horizon in the north east in Michigan when op made this thread. Sirius fits the description much better. It was low as well, but still higher than Algieba and it was in the south east. Its low altitude would cause it to scintillate, which is what op was describing.

There was an unusually brought star next to the moon earlier (just above a tree) several hours ago. Little dipper was just above the moon a ways.

Now the moon is across the sky, little dipper just above it and the bright light is right above the same tree branch

The star next to the moon is Aldebaran. That's the Pleiades above it, not the little dipper.

Hmm, OK. Sure looks similar aligned as little dipper tho hey? I'll find the proper LD and not make that mistake again. But none the less, now the whole works had moved again like it should, but the bright one is still above the tree

It keeps flashing and changing from white to blue to red.... Someone else has to be able to see this. Very small highly doubt my phone could pick it up... At first I thought maybe a distant plane but it hasn't moved since I started looking at it 20 minutes ago.

So why are you calling it a STAR?

I recorded these UFO's over Lake Ontario on Aug 30 ,2014. It sounds like they are similar to what you saw? I recorded these from my phone an dthe pier at Fair Haven is great reference on the video.

These lights were changing colors and appeared at time to be spinning and perhaps triangular.

These lights went on and of for 15 minutes. I have a short and long version of them:

I saw the same thing last week from Kansas. It was the brightest light in the sky looking to the east around 11 PM to midnight. It pulsed white/red/blue and maybe other colors??? very rapidly. To the right of it was a group of stars that appeared to be a tall, narrow triangle, the point of which was almost parallel with the strobing light. I saw it two nights in a row, but haven't checked since then.

ifind it extremely odd that he doesnot mention the red trails flashing under those lights.

Also yesterday i saw something new: the chemtrails are now being formed into great "sheets" of sht in the sky, instead of thin "trails". Erie County Area East.

At a glance, the sunset, at one point, later, i saw a hard, brilliant, thick, long steak, stretching close to the horizon, of violent, all consuming, redder-than-red, causing me extreme feeling, as the sunset was coming to its last hoorah. Like a monstrous, gory, spurt of ????? shot across the horizon. The vehicle, i was in, was moving too fast for me to gaze upon the startling scene.

I do mention in the videos that the 2 flashing lights to the right are the lights on the Pier at Fair Haven bay. These are the lights on the channel that guide boats into the channel. There is a green and red light. Red right returning.

When a boat comes from the lake into the channel at night the boat has the red light to their right that guides them between the break walls.

Those break wall lights made this a great video as it gave a reference to position and color.

You can also see the reflections in the water are different indicating a different angle and altitude between them.

You can also hear it is a windy night in the video.

Most of my ufo sightings were in the state of Illinois when I was an over the road truck driver. I used to stop and watch that stuff. OP, don't believe those who tell you it is a planet.
