I think GLP stokes interest in verifying resourses.
The old "linky or stinky" keeps people pretty sharp around here. If you look from the outside looking in, you will see a site that hosts people with a fever to prove out something that may be bullshit.
If you ask me, I think GLP has actually made me more aware of my surroundings and has givin me an indepth understanding of "How the world turns"
I am talking about real life issues as we are experiencing now. (market, economic, health and such)
