I have a very real question for you GLP.

It is a fact that you can be arrested and imprisoned for knowingly sexually transmitting aids , or spitting on a police office if you have aids because it is the act of intentionally or recklessly infecting others.

Will the RN Amber who saw what Ebola did to Eric Duncan , and knew the potential for spreading this deadly disease and yet deliberatly for selfish reasons exposed hundreds if not thousands to this horrific disease.; will she be criminally charged as do the HIV carriers ?

This needs discussion to deter this reckless behavior from happening again..

Like I said, at a minimum she needs to be held financially responsible for all damages to anyone and Frontier airlines.
She was under a 21 day quarantine for E-Fucking-BOLA.

If she survives, she should be charged.

The standard wisdom with some people was that God hates what gays do so he made AIDS. Now it seems the same people would have to hope this doesn't spread in Ohio, or it will seem that God was saying he hates people who gather for heterosexual weddings.

Bull shit. She is a freaking nurse that had contact with an ebola patient. A virus we know almost nothing about... apparently. She started feeling sick and just had to make that wedding anyway. Screw everyone else. If this does become some kind of pandemic she could be the reason behind it. And she is a nurse! She knows better. If I get a cough I stay away from people so I dont infect them and I didnt even attend a school that teaches that. She is selfish and could have possibly put this entire thing out of control. All this stuff about the CDC telling her it was OK to travel sounds like BS to me. I believe that she called them, but I have not seen anything that actually confirms that they told her to go ahead and get on an airplane for a quick jaunt to Cleveland.

Did she actually tell them that she had treated Duncan in the first few days of his stay without a bio suit?
Did she actually tell them that she was going to fly?

Or, more likely, did she tell them that she had been exposed and wanted to know if her fever of 99.5 meant that she had Ebola. They probably just told her no, let us know when it its 100.4.

Until I see a transcript or see something where she gets specific about what she actually told the CDC I don't believe her.

When Nurse Nina left Presbyterian today, staff lined up along the hospital driveway to wish her well. That didn't happen with Nurse Amber. Guess her coworkers are pissed that she possibly exposed so many people to Ebola.

I happened to turn on the news and they showed the staff. It was touching. Later this evening, Nurse Nina was shown in her Maryland hospital room speaking to someone- I think a nurse. She seems like such a sweet young woman. Anyone who had her as a nurse was lucky.

Kind of telling isn't it! I'll bet that there are some pretty pissed off people in Ohio right now!

The only hopeful sign with this nurse is that this area is probably one of the best prepared in the nation to handle any type of outbreak.

We have the best hospital systems here - The Cleveland Clinic leading the pack and University Hospitals and MetroHealth System. Every hospital belongs to one of those 3 networks and even most of the urgicare centers are affiliated with them. And then there are the top notch medical universities adding to the mix. If you're going to get sick - NE Ohio is the place to get sick at.

The state of Ohio's medical lab has already been certified to test for Ebola - so we don't have to wait for samples to go to Atlanta and be tested.

The local response has been lightning fast and is being as thorough as humanly possible. None of the health agencies here are waiting on the CDC to make the decisions.

The wedding dress shop is closed (and the call is out to anyone who was there to get in touch with authorities for testing), the house is quarantined, the schools where teachers may have been exposed were closed. The medical personnel that were on the plane have been put on paid leave for the 21 days. The airport went through the security footage to see exactly where the nurse went on her way to the plane and they sanitized the entire area - and the cleaning people were given the appropriate clothing and equipment for the job. (and I have a feeling they'll do the whole airport just out of precaution. It's small enough.) The airline took the plane out of service and sent it to Denver (empty) for complete sanitization, which will include changing seat coverings and whatever else they feel needs done.

Unlike the lack of response in Dallas - which is still lacking. The reaction up here has been swift and thorough. The governor of Ohio is leading the charge and making sure the funds are made available to whichever agencies need them.

Now it's on the average citizens to do the right things. And with it being fall - it's a fine line we're going to be walking. There are already bugs floating around, as they do every fall. People up here are used to sniffle, colds and coughs and not prone to go to the doctor until fevers get to 101 or you start hacking up yellow or green stuff.

I think local media is doing a good job of getting the information out on where the nurse went and when so that people know if they were in a place of exposure or have been around someone that may have been exposed. Hopefully, those people will do the right thing and stay away from people and call the CDC number to get on the watch list or at minimum call the instant they feel something coming on.

Again, our hospitals can handle this - now it's up to the citizens to do their jobs and keep from spreading this. I'm hoping enough are so pissed off that this nurse didn't stay home for the 21 days, that they go overboard with precaution because they don't want to be "her".

Thank God, we have finally found the adults. Sorry, but the so called leaders elsewhere are acting like 12 year old girls who have seen a mouse. All screeching and no action.

Oh,don't worry. The owner was on the news tonight. She cleaned her shop by herself and sprayed everything with Lysol. It's all good. Ugh.

I have thought long and hard before commenting on nurse Amber. Even though Amber is 29 which is still young, but thats old enough to really be mature unlike 21-25 year olds.

I am sure she wanted to attend this preplan event, she used the CDC guidelines as easy excuse to do so.

Amber knew better than to travel. Amber knew this was deadly, she knew she was at risk and yet went out and NOW BECAUSE OF HER she may have infected numerous other people. I believe this is worse than what Duncan did, at least he went to ER when he was sick, This woman goes across Country.

She should be prosecuted, but won't be. Of course this virus may very well be enough punishment.
