Money and the Purchase of Power and Prestige is Ruining this Country
Just as the head of FEMA, Bush’s horse trainer, was appointed to be in control of the big natural disasters, and our ambassadors to other countries at the UN basically just purchase their jobs, this head of the CDC apparently got his job in one of the same ways, this input of incapable people in jobs of upmost importance will be the internal ruination of us if not changed in a dramatic way.
This is a huge problem within our government that just cannot be changed without a sea change, a complete paradigm shift, in the structure of our government and market system. Again, the lack of diversity, disallowing an array of capable and educated individuals must be allowed to compete for these positions.
I have hope for this country but it is only based upon the fact there is a possibility within us to make the change.
This country, while it still has some credible and inspirational equity left from its early history, its current strengths, and before it loses all credibility and control, could lead the world by admitting its mistakes and making the huge corrections possible within and outside where it has caused many and been part of most, of the problems in the world.
Unfortunately a democracy with an uncontrolled market and lack of a strong government with true goals of staying in power despite the equitable power of the few to purchase change as they see fit for themselves, will become stagnant with bipartisan stalemate. Everything that is done to create great change, from war to humanitarian efforts – like health care – will come off half done and therefor doomed to failure of its original intent.
I know we have already been overthrown by a coup and even perhaps a coup de tray with Kennedy, somewhere along the lines within the last century, drawing from the industrial revolution; we were put in control of the corporate elite from both within and outside this country.
We still have the law left to regain that control, but only with the combined effort of the American voter. We can no longer continue to tread water in this cesspool, swimming one way then the other. The change can only come about with a grass roots effort to regain our government. Education and a true understanding of who we are is key to that effort. I can only hope, pray, and post, for our strength to obtain the vision to see what we must do to lead the world.
If we succumb to ignoring the future for short-term profit and a single lifetime holding on to power, we will collapse and leave a vacuum that sucks the rest of the world into it, or worse we will, through selfish ego, destroy the world, rather than use the opportunity we now have, to lead it.
Even the worst of scenarios could, in time by turning all chaotic, come out better in time. It would just be so much better if we took the opportunity, and what many know to be true, and took control and direction to make the changes needed – however extreme they may seem to the two extremes of individuals in this country; the ignorant and the selfish, which are two of the same.
