What sort of payload of explosives could a person in a wing suit carry? Would it be enough to bring down a plane? If one can't get onto the plane from the inside to hijack it and bring it down, maybe get onto it from the outside?

Someone from homeland security really needs to look into this.

LOL! Now that is crazy!

You cant catch up to a jet with a wing suit. It defies physics on multiple counts.

Now using people as living guided missiles. That is a fabulously insane concept. Strait out of the funny papers.

Re: Suicide Terrorist in wing suits with explosives
Well 911 taught us to think outside the box and think about what someone might be willing to do. Maybe the concept would be to try to time the explosion right as the plane is landing or taking off? If the plane is already traveling at high speed, no it wouldn't be possible to catch up I think. It would be more like trying to latch on at some point as the plane is taking off or landing that might be possible.
Either that, or at least be in the vicinity of the plane and time the explosion. Maybe not exactly catch onto the plane be explode enough in the vicinity of the plane to do damage.

I know it is crazy, but terrorists that want to kill themselves are crazy too.

Hmmmm makes me think on that thread the other day from someone on a plane seeing a guy fly past over Macclesfield at 3,600 ft.

Test run perhaps?

I was thinking it might be a test run. They want to see how closely they could get to a plane. They might not have to latch onto it, just explode themselves within a certain distance. This could be enough to damage the plane.

interesting

a LANDING passenger plane does between 120 - 150 mph, i just read, and the FASTEST a wingsuit jumper has achieved is 225 mph

Also, you won't find police cars or terror policing that high up. Where else could you deliver your payload without being seen?

I agree with you OP. I if one of those things got so close to a plane in mid air, it would do damage. Thanks for the thread.
