How NOT to rent a room using Craigslist! What are they THINKING?

Looking for a shared rental this week on Craigslist, real flexible - but not insane! OK, so here are some examples of people I didn't call - "Someone to share my bed", "looking anyone from 0 years of age to 100 y/o....I am crazy and make no promises" (whatever that means), "800/month, must have excellent credit, first & last month rental plus cleaning deposit, background check, total almost $2000 to move in IF we like you (OK, if you have all that, why not rent an apartment - or even a house?), etc. Then there are those few looking for an ombudsman - rural properties where (I called them, I know) they expect you to feed the llamas, do some dozer work for future development, and several handyman skills would be nice, too, and btw, do you know of a good babysitter for the grandkids when they come over (OK, I made that one up)? But seriously, when GLP gets a little slow for you now and then, check out "room share" on Craigslist, with a little emphasis on the Pacific Northwest area.
