AN unknown plane has been intercepted by RAF jets over North West Kent, causing a "sonic boom" heard across the South East.

A Kent Police spokesman said: The loud bang this afternoon was a result of RAF activity over North West Kent.”

It is believed a plane was intercepted by two RAF aircrafts and escorted to Stansted Airport, but this has not been confirmed by authorities yet.

It was a Latvian cargo plane!
