American system is hermetic. That's why we'll never convert to metric. Lots of esoteric symbolism in our system. Didn't know Liberia used our system. Makes sense, I guess, since Liberia was founded by ex-American slaves.

We still use imperial for some things. Pints in the pub, miles per hour on road signs, etc.
